Casterton Golf Course, nestled in the picturesque Cumbrian countryside, offers a delightful 9-hole experience with stunning views of the surrounding hills. The course is well-maintained, with varied holes that challenge golfers of all skill levels. Fairways are lush, and the greens roll smoothly, making for an enjoyable round. While not overly long, the strategic layout demands accuracy, particularly around the tricky par-3s. The club’s relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff add to its charm, making it a great choice for a casual day out. Perfect for a scenic, peaceful round without overwhelming difficulty.

Well Kept short 9 hole course

Casterton Golf Course offers an extremely well maintained 9 holes. The course has plenty of challenges from bunkers on most holes, to blind drives over the tops. A fantastic view from the highest points and a fantastic array of challenging holes.

I played once while on holiday in the area, and I lucked out this time. The locals were very friendly, as were the staff who fixed me up with a set of rentals, (I'm from the U.S.), and this nine hole track was a pleasant surprise indeed. Do not let the yardage fool you...this course is not a pushover. There are at least three holes that I recall which require a well placed tee shot to even have a glimpse of the green.

Nice course, some holes had the temp greens in use but understandable give the heavy rain during the week (also experienced during our round) I would imagine it to be really nice round if the weather permitted. Just unfortunate the weather was not on our side!
