What the club says: Bransford Golf Club at the Best Western Bank House Hotel, Golf & Country Club first opened in 1992. It was designed by Bob Sandow and started life as a '11 hole' course which was extended to '18 holes' in 1994.

Our course offers golfers the chance to play at a real Floridian style golf course featuring 14 lakes, island greens and curving doglegs towards well-kept greens. At 6,204 yards in length, Bransford will challenge golfers of even the best abilities to keep on a straight line in order to avoid the hazardous water traps.

A real challenge for all levels. Only downside is not many holes allow the big hitters to really rip a drive but cannot fault the course or greens. Excellent practice facilities as well. Well worth a weekend visit with a stay at The Bank House Hotel

Absolutely wet beyond belief. The fairways were like bogs. The paths were atrocious and the course should have been shut under these conditions. We we’re losing balls on the fairway it was that bad.

Hidden gem on way home

Selected this course due to location, on the way home from South Wales. Round 3 of 3. No buggies available so we decanted ½ sets to carry. Strategic course with plenty of trouble. Nice condition except for dry ditches. Greens very good and lots of eye catching holes. Accepted GreenFree vouchers too!

Wetter than a lake!!

We went as a 4 ball and paid £140. I have to be honest and say that if we had paid £40 I would still feel I had been had over!!
The drainage is none existent here - The fairway grass was @ 5-6 inches long, clearly as they couldn't get the mowers on them due to it being bog land.
It suggests its a Florida style course - other than being like the Everglades - I don't know how it is.

I think it could be a nice course but to be really honest - this would only be during a drought.
I will never ever bother playing here again. Shocking from the first hole to the 18th.

A quirky layout with water in play on several holes.

A quirky layout, with 6 par 3's, 6 par 4's and 6 par 5's. Water is in play on most holes, but is well placed to only catch poor shots, or poorly thought out shots.

The Course was in very nice condition, greens were a little soft, but very true and running at a good speeds. The rough isn't very penal, which makes it a great place to play for the higher handicappers.

The layout of the course is disappointing, the par 3's are very similar too each other (5 holes ranging from 179 - 188 yards), and the par 4's are generally short with some exaggerated dog legs which makes it difficult for the visiting golfer to gauge tee shots. The par 5's are again generally short, the 6th hole having a large tree right in the middle of the fairway isn't a good design. The water on the 18th hole is a long carry for many high handicappers, another big dogleg, it could be a far better design.

Great course with lots of lakes, you need to keep straight and lay up sensibly depending on the holes. Greens so fast and true but members who had been out before us need to repair their pitch marks, I repaired marks on all 18 holes. Fairways although ok could have been a little shorter, first cut was quite long and with constant rain during the round, it was difficult spotting your ball easily and often tricky playing out of. Some of the bunkers had not been raked and this led to some problems getting out of them. That said it is a great course and will always play it. Clubhouse very friendly and produced one of the best b breakfasts we have had.

Brilliant course in tip top condition for time of year

Brilliant course in tip top condition for time of year.
They are even working hard to improve the drainage and expand the tee off areas.

A quirky layout with 6 holes each of par 3, 4 and 5 but a fair test for the thinking golfer, dangers are water on most holes and slick and subtle slopes on greens. Had a great day playing in late September and the course was in great condition.
