Love this course, up/down round & around. Tricky lies and 2nd shots to navigate, greens also quick but super experience overall + a good sausage sandwich after too!!1 issue that new groups being fed into the round @10th tee that delayed us a bit!???????????

In my opinion this is a tough golf course and very well kept in the summer months. There are a lot of undulations in the course and although the greens were slower than I’ve seen them before (thank goodness) they are tough greens to putt on. Good old school club that still hold traditional values.Reviewer Rating

Greens and fairways in excellent condition
The greens were fast and true and the fairways were in excellent condition. Shame that there were several tee boxes being repaired and so we had to use mats on those holesReviewer Rating

One of the best courses I?ve played this year
This is a lovely course. The tee boxes are in great condition, fairways were in good form and the greens were true and fast! The practice putting green was immaculate. Showing great signs for the course to come. The course was the best kept course I've played all year and worthy of a visit. The condition is down to a small army working on the course. Repairing divots, cutting the fairways, etc. it is a true credit to the staff and the pride they take in their work. The course has a combination of shorter and longer holes, using the slopes and hills very well. The greens were fast and very challenging. A few 3 putts were recorded but it was still very enjoyable.
The only downside was the club house. It was in good condition but the bar and food are served at different parts of the clubhouse. Staff were talking rather than looking for customers (I entered at 1200 so I would've thought they?d be geared up for the lunchtime rush). They were polite and friendly once they noticed me.
The course is well sign posted, alerting people to risks and flagging public footpaths. One big risk was the practice facility hitting mid irons to a practice green across the first's fairway.
?65 for a round is incredibly steep for most people, especially given the current economic situation. I think for ?50 or so, then it would be well worth a visit here. I made full use of the day ticket option.

Well worth the trip
Ideal shortish James Braid course that didn't disappoint & very acceptable conditions for winter golf. Greens challenging & well maintained fairways fine. A few temp tees but understandable just a shame the kitchen had shut.Reviewer Rating
