What the club says: Borth and Ynyslas Golf Club nestles on the estuary of the Dovey River and the beautiful sweep of Cardigan Bay. The stunning scenery also includes views north and east to the Snowdonia National Park. Though not long by today's standards, this 'Grand Old Lady' of Welsh golf provides a stern but fair challenge that can be enjoyed by all standards of golfer.

A great links course
What better on a sunny day than playing one of the best links courses in Wales. The course was in great condition with nice fairways and smooth greens and a good pace of play. The facilities are excellent with a pro shop and food etc available all day.Reviewer Rating

Tough track especially with a brutal wind.
Well worth visiting as it's a challenging course which plays long in the wind. Nice lay out and easy to follow , the greens are like lightning and very good value at the price. A tough test for a HH like me , I did not use the clubhouse afterwards so I have not commented. Club staff were pleasant and engaging.Reviewer Rating

Great links course
A lovely seaside links course in mid wales. A nice challenge, especially in the wind. It's a bit wet at the moment, but so are most courses in wales at the moment, other than that the course is in good condition with plenty of interesting improvements being made. The pro shop and the members seem very friendly and pleasantReviewer Rating

A great links course
A lovely round in good conditions. The course is playing well but the fairways are very dry at the moment but the greens are generally in nice condition. I shot under par so they mus be good!(Round played: Jun 2021 - Score: 89 Handicap: 19.2)

Tough in Strong Wind
First time visit to this links course and unfortunately there was a near gale force wind blowing.Great welcome from members and the Pro Staff.
Course is well laid out and picturesque.
The bar was kept open for us to have a drink at the end of our round, a very nice gesture and very welcome.
Like Arnie, I'll be back, hopefully with better weather!

Step Back in Time
Like many who play here it was following a trip to the wonderful Aberdovey the day before. Played in drizzle and a breeze. First impression on driving along the road which splits the course was "let's go somewhere else." Glad we didn't because the impression from the road is very misleading. It's not a great golf course but it is interesting, particularly once you get through the first 4 holes and overcome your fears of hitting the passing traffic on the busy road and begin to play the more interesting holes in the dunes. Holes 5 to 12 are most enjoyable and all offer a different challenge. The others are on the flat area either side of the through road. The course condition was not great - the heat wave has taken its toll. The tees were very poor with little or no grass; fairways hard and parched and the greens woolly and slow, but they ran true. Didn't check out the catering but the pro shop was like stepping back 20 years. Some gear on sale in there would certainly pass as vintage! At £20 per head with the 2-for-1 vouchers it represented fair value but wouldn't pay £40 (standard visitor fee) to play here. Glad we stayed to play it and I would encourage anyone thinking about playing here to do so. We enjoyed the challenge but won't be returning.Scored gross 77 (off 14.)
