What the club says: Abbey Moor Golf Club is home to an attractive and memorable nice little nine-hole tract that will, in a good way, delight as much as it will decieve. With open fairways and water in play makes it a challange for any golfer.

Desperately needs a good tidy
Played here a lot when it first opened , played today & oh dear !!! You couldn’t tell what was rough & what was fairway. The greens are patchy at best , was like putting on bad astroturf .And as has been said , I’m sorry but £17 is too much for a course in that condition

Tired
I have played Abbey Moor several times and used to regard it as a good practice facility to work on your game whilst playing a few holes. The condition has sadly deteriorated. The greens were poor, bumpy and patchy. The fairways needed a cut and the tees were worn and also needed a cut. Staff were friendly but at £17 for a late afternoon 9 holes, there are other courses which are more deserving of the custom.Reviewer Rating

Poor hospitality
It’s an interesting little 9 but had a really bad experience here today. My 8yr old plays off 20 and we had been to this course a few times before. Went today and was told I must pay for two green fees. I only intended to carry my sons bag but they said they don’t allow this. I explained I didn’t have my clubs but they said the only option was to hire clubs. Given it’s a pay as you go and we had done this previously I was a bit disappointed. My sons a lot better than me already so I tend to just follow behind him to make sure he’s ok because he’s 8 lol! Young lad behind the bar seemed uncomfortable but an old lady came over and said that’s the rule and it’s on the door. Guessing they’ve had issues recently. She was very cold about it and seemed a bit backward in her thinking. Facilities are very poor there and the course isn’t always in great nick but it is an interesting 9 for a public course with a couple of really good par 3s and perfect for my sons age. Shame As the guy who had been running it previously was a really warm Italian (I think) guy who welcomed the fact I was getting my son out on the course. This was pre covid so maybe change of hands since.Reviewer Rating

Challenging 9 hole course, thumbs up.
A proper 9 hole course with a range of holes and a challenge off each tee. Fairly short if you play 18 compared to standard courses, but a great course to practice a range of situations and layouts, and testing most of your bag. Great value for money too.Reviewer Rating

Short but decent 9 hole course
The course is less than 5000 yards, but don't be fooled into thinking you only have to turn up to get a good score. The fairways aren't especially wide, and stray drives can lead to tricky second shots from the trees, but keep it straight off the tee and you should shot low.The condition of the course is very acceptable, with decent greens and fairways that have a good length of grass on them (too many courses are still struggling from last summer's heat).
The clubhouse isn't the best, and there isn't a pro shop anymore, but you're mainly there for the course, and I don't think it will let you down.
