British Par 3 Championships proving a firm favourite with fans
The Farmfoods British Par 3 Championship at Nailcote Hall is a firm favourite with UK golf fans. The event will once again be hosted by golfing legend Major Champion Tony Jacklin.
The event is the third biggest in England –boasting a £100,000 total prize fund.
TP Tour Qualifying was held on 4th July at Nailcote Hall.
The notorious Par 3 course once more proved to be a tough customer, with just 5 players from the field of 60 breaking par, the low score of the day was four under par.
The winner by three shots was local player Nicholas Jenkins from nearby Coventry Golf Club.
A delighted Jenkins announced he will be turning Pro before the Championship Finals. Four players returned a one under par score to secure their places.
Seven Pro’s recorded a score of level par, and a play off took place for the sixth and final spot, with Duncan Elbury the benefactor after hitting a super wedge shot to within two feet on the first play off hole.
A hole in one was made by Myles Frost, who won himself an overnight break for two at Nailcote Hall Hotel.
