Cottrell Park Announces Facility Investment
Cottrell Park Golf Resort near Cardiff has unveiled a comprehensive investment plan to improve facilities and on-course machinery.
The South Wales golf and leisure destination is set to re-invest over £230,000 to strengthen its catering and golf offering.
As part of an extensive development and growth strategy, Cottrell Park Golf Resort has spent over £180,000 on new machinery for golf course management and a fleet of golf buggies, as well as £50,000 on a complete kitchen refurbishment.
General Manager, Derek Smith, said: “Investment is critical for several reasons; to support our ground team's commitment to two immaculate golf courses and to promote an excellent customer experience.
“We made the decision to replace our kitchen facility after reviewing our catering offering and announcing an exciting partnership with Spiros Fine Dining Caterers. Cottrell Park Golf Resort is always forward-facing and now we can compete as a high quality food venue.”
The extended 40m2 kitchen facility boasts state-of-art equipment including two rational steamers and wall to wall stainless steel linings, which assist in producing an ultra clean environment whilst accommodating higher volumes of service and quality of food.
The St Nicholas-based venue announced the appointment of Spiros as its in-house caterers in December 2013, to spearhead a new era of cuisine for members and visitors alike.
Spiro Borg, Director of Spiros Fine Dining Caterers said: “We are very excited to be playing our part in the continued development of Cottrell Park Golf Resort, which now stands as one of the finest golfing, food and wedding destinations in the region.”
Cottrell Park Golf Resort boasts one of the biggest golf memberships and has a reputation for year round golf because of its exceptional course drainage.
It has now purchased two Toro 4000D Batwings to manage the semi rough and two Toro Fairway mowers to promote efficiency whilst maintaining 230 acres of mown grass to the highest cut standard.
The 12 new golf buggies and 10 PowaKaddy electric trolleys will also benefit both golfing members and non-members who do not own certain equipment or cannot always travel with their electric trolley.
Opened in 1996 and based within 400 acres of historical parkland, Cottrell Park Golf Resort offers golfing, business, wedding and leisure facilities include two championship-maintained golf courses, event, conferencing and meeting rooms, team building and training activities, a restaurant and bar, a nature trail, and golf and grand prix simulators.
