The Belfry Claims Top Honour at the Annual 59 Club Awards
The iconic four-time Ryder Cup host, The Belfry, underlined its position as one of the world’s most desired golfing destinations at the annual ‘59Club Awards’, claiming the top award as ‘The Ultimate Golf Resort 2014’.
The luxury Midlands resort was also one of only six UK resorts to receive the coveted ‘Gold Flag Award’. The awards recognize service excellence in golf, and continue to illustrate success of The Belfry’s refurbishment as it moves towards completion of a major £26 million investment programme.
Setting the benchmark for all-round golf service delivery across the UK, the 59 Club Awards recognise venues for their commitment to client satisfaction through a number of criteria from golf course presentation to food & beverage service and phone call analysis, to name just a few. Each resort is marked independently by a panel of ‘mystery’ visitors and members to ensure that a fair, unbiased, and accurate representation of customer service is accumulated, with the ultimate aim of improving or maintaining the highest-levels of customer service and satisfaction throughout the industry.
“We are delighted to have received such an accolade from our peers within the industry, which underlines our commitment to deliver the highest levels of customer service and unforgettable experiences for all of our guests,” stated Lynn Hood, Managing Director of The Belfry. “It’s an incredibly exciting time here at The Belfry, with the investment that has transformed the resort. The building work started in April 2013, and with the works almost complete, we are able to offer the highest levels of service to all of our guests. From the greenkeepers to the bar and kitchen staff, every member of the team is committed to service excellence and does a fantastic job; they are the driving force behind our success. We are looking forward to the year ahead and continuing to build upon the resort’s illustrious reputation.”
A new day at The Belfry sees a new level of luxury to compliment the world-class golf offering, including the world’s only four-time Ryder Cup host course, The Brabazon, and the UK’s only PGA-branded golf course, The PGA National. The new bedrooms have been fully refurbished to the finest standards, and there are new dining and relaxation locations throughout the resort, where guests can relax in the stylish Brabazon Bar, experience fine dining in The Ryder Grill, or watch live sport in the contemporary Sam’s Clubhouse. Guests can also unwind in the opulent spa and leisure facilities, or work on their golf game at the PGA National Golf Academy, which caters for all your golfing needs, from tuition through to state-of-the-art custom fitting. The Belfry is managed by De Vere and is one of the nine resorts and 16 stunning courses within their portfolio, many of which were also recognised at the 59Club awards.
