Golfers Get Chance to Design New Wilson Staff Bag
Wilson Staff, who are celebrating their centenary this year, are giving golfers the chance to design their own neXus carry bag and be entered into a global competition that will see the winning entry inspire the company’s 2015 line of neXus bags.
The ‘Dress your naked neXus’ competition – open until Wednesday 19 Februrary – allows golfers to combine colours of the bag’s base, trimmings, pockets, frame and logo through a simple process on http://www.wilson.com/en-gb/golf/nexus-custom-bag. All submitted designs will be reviewed by a Wilson Staff panel of judges, who will pick their top three versions based on current fashion trends, global appeal and colour compatibility.
The top three designs will then be announced and shown on social media channels, where the public can vote for their favourite bag. The winning designer will receive his or her neXus golf bag, and that design will be used to inspire the 2015 in-line neXus golf bag.
“This contest allows us to launch a product that consumers truly want; designed for them, by them,” comments Global Director of Marketing, Doug Thiel. “It also helps us build a stronger bond with our followers on social media – consider it an innovative way to conduct marketing research!”
Wilson Staff is also encouraging golfers to share their design entries on Twitter before 19 February by using the hashtag #naKedneXus.
The popular neXus received the “Best Overall” bag recognition in MyGolfSpy’s 2014 Carry/Stand Bag Guide. It weighs less than 2.2kg and features a new exo-frame technology that allows a lightweight aluminium frame to support the feature-packed bag. Incorporating a newly-engineered 360° integrated mechanism, the frame connects with a base design to ensure easy stand activation and keeps the bag firmly flat to the ground.
