NEW Get Into Golf Campaign - Surrey Golf Partnership
Get into golf, a campaign to inspire new golfers and support the plan to make England the world’s leading golf nation, is swinging into action in Surrey this month.
Free trial lessons are available across the county. Newcomers and returners to the game will also be offered follow-up coaching with PGA professionals, together with information about club membership and other aspects of the game.
Activities will be promoted with outdoor advertising and are all listed on a new-look Get into golf website and available via a free telephone hotline.
County Development Officer Richard Shaw, said: “We’re very excited about the Get into golf campaign which showcases all the opportunities to get started at golf.
“Golf is a game for all and a game for life and we’re looking forward to welcoming newcomers and returners at our sessions. There’s never been a better time to Get into golf!”
The campaign is launching at a time when interest in the sport will be at a high, thanks to the US Masters, the first Major tournament of the season, which will be played from April 5-8.
Get into golf is a national campaign to raise awareness about the game and the opportunities for newcomers and returners. It is run by the England Golf Partnership (EGP) through its network of County Golf Partnerships. Together, they work to grow the game and to achieve the EGP’s vision of making England the world’s leading golf nation by 2020.
The EGP brings together the amateur governing body, England Golf, and the Professional Golfers’ Association to grow the game with the support of the Golf Foundation and Sport England.
