Rife putters making moves in the market
A lot of good things have been coming out about Rife Putters in the last few weeks, the most recent being they had four of the top five places in the Ricoh Women’s British Open without paying or sponsoring a single player to use one of their brands.
I know it goes on a lot where players use different brands of putters, wedges etc... But rarely is it known that companies shout about it.
Obviously it’s great for Rife that professional players are using their brands. Apparently Ian Poulter is a user of Rife as well, according to their website . It doesn’t name him but it does say ‘Congratulations to the winner of the Accenture World Match play and his Aruba putter’.
Wonder how Cobra will feel about that?
Again hats off to Rife but has anyone else come across professionals who advertise one brand but blatantly use another.
I have an example, I was up at De Vere Mottram Hall the other month and former Open Champion Paul Lawrie had a charity day there.
Great bloke, really softly spoken and very approachable so I asked if I could have a look at his clubs. I’m a bit of a geek when it comes to this sort of thing. With Wilson Staff being his sponsor and having it plastered everywhere from his Clothes to his bag I was surprised when he pulled off his Wilson Staff head covers to find a Callaway driver and 5-Wood and a Titleist 3-Wood, that comes after seeing his Titleist Vokey wedges and his Scotty Cameron putter. Apart from his Irons which were Wilson everything else wasn’t.
To be fair to Paul, on his website it does actually say he only uses the irons and nothing else, so contractually he is probably obliged to put on the headcovers.
From what I’ve been told Rife are really making movements in the putting department against the heavyweights of Odyssey and Titleist so I’m glad that professionals are starting to use their products.
Here is more evidence of their success:
