Stuburt Endurance Sport eVent Golf Shoe Review
REVIEW: Stuburt Endurance Sport eVent Golf Shoe
And so, we have reached the conclusion of our 2018/19 winter golf shoe reviews. Last, but by no means least is the Stuburt Endurance Sport eVent spiked shoes. Golfshake reader, Ethan Davies has been trying out the shoes over the last few weeks and has provided us with his thoughts, below.
Tech Specs
The shoes are designed to perform well on the golf course whilst keeping feet comfortable and dry. The eVent technology included in the shoe ensure that the wet weather does not affect your game and allows you to keep playing through unfavourable conditions. The EVA foam midsole makes for a cushioned base, providing comfort underfoot. The spikes outsole is designed to help golfers with stability throughout the swing even in softer conditions. With a one year waterproof warranty, these shoes have a lot to offer.
Looks
Generally, these are not the sportiest looking golf shoes but the do look stylish enough for a shoe in their price range. The styling did not appeal to me personallyas somebody who likes a more trainer-like design. The upper of the shoe has a slight sheen to it and the materials used all look to be good quality.
Feel
The shoes feature a fair amount of padding around the ankle and in the tongue area, which personally, I was not too keen on. In contrast, the lower area of the shoe is quite rigid. The feeling underfoot where the midsole meets the heel is slightly unusual at first but is not an issue. Overall, the shoes offer a decent level of comfort whilst on the course.
Performance
This style is not the most stable shoe that I have worn, but having said that, I have worn shoes that are more than double the price and have been less stable. For this shoe’s target market I feel that they provide a good amount of stability.
Pros
The price point of the shoe is very competitive and this is made even more attractive by the minimalistic, stylish design of the shoe.
Cons
A ridge on the inside of the shoe where the heel meets the midsole made them slightly uncomfortable attimes, especially when walking over bumps in the course.
The Bottom Line
Overall, the Stuburt Endurance Sport eVent shoes are a decent offering in the golf shoe market for those looking for good value for money. It is not a shoe that would suit my game specifically, but I can definitely see the purpose of a shoe like this being available. The appearance, performance and comfort are satisfactory and for the price and target market, Stuburt have done a great job of keeping the price reasonable without compromising quality. Perhaps there may be some competition from other brands whose previous season’s shoes may have been reduced to a similar price point as Stuburt’s, but there is no doubt that there is a worthwhile place for these shoes in the market.
