Royal Ashburn gone down hill

Once one of my favourite local courses to play in the past. But no longer. Allegedly a "public course" that caters to their entitled club members and enforced by aggressive and excessive amount of marshalls. We were pushed all day and worse harrassed by the marshalls. An excessive greens fee that apparently didn't mean anything to them or their tone deaf management. The course remains stellar but the people that run it are arrogant and self entitled. I will never go back there nor recommend it to other causal golfers in the Durham or GTA region.

An oldie but a goodie

Royal Ashburn formerly named Thunderbird 20 years ago is a 60 year old country side parkland course 45 minutes drive from Toronto. It's the qualifying course for those aspiring to have a teaching certificate for golf. In short, it's a pretty stern test of your skills and course management. I wish I could play it more often but it's a tough course to get a tee time and I'm glad to have at least played it once this year.
