What the club says: The last ever design by world renowned golf professional Seve Ballesteros.
The golf truly is a 'must play' in the Lisbon region of Portugal.
12 holes offer panaramic view of the Atlantic Ocean our to the Berlenga Islands and 6 holes have sublime views of the Óbidos Lagoon - Europes largest saltwater Lagoon.
The golf course is a fascinating lay-out with a mix of 5 par 5 holes, 5 par 3 holes and 10 par 4 holes. 9 lakes are ready to catch stray shots but add to the delight of playing Royal Óbidos.
A golfing expereince that will always be remembered.

The Hotel itself is amazing. You are treated like Royalty and the rooms are big bright with one way huge windows that look over the course. The Course its excellent designed by Seve and on top of that just down the road there is the West Cliffs course which also one you should not miss.

I had played this course some years before, when it was quite new. The course was very open then but it has now matured and is quite stunning in places.

A must play
Great course close to both West Cliffs & Praia d'el Rey. Was in excellent condition. Greens the best i have played this year so make sure you have your short game on song. Will definitely play again the next time we are in the area.Reviewer Rating

Played this course twice. Design of the course is great, some incredible hole which really challenge the risk / reward attitude. But what really lets it down is the conditioning of the course. It was in incredibly bad shape from tee to green - our entire four-ball thought the same. There had been a lot of rain but other courses we played did not have any challenges with the conditioning.

Royal Indeed
Lovely course, a bit nasty in the wind but still enjoyable. The staff are excellent and very friendly. My husband and I have played here a couple of times before and we have never got tired of it. Good old Seve.Reviewer Rating

Seve's Masterpiece
My wife and I have both played this course before, but this time the Atlantic winds were up and my game was taken apart. However saying that its a great course to play with really interesting holes, fabulous greens and great views. The club house is great and so are the staff.Reviewer Rating

Fantastic Seve designed course
Always wanted to play a Seve designed course. This ticked all the boxes, plenty of water and some very challenging holes. Hire a buggy(in advance) as theres some long walks between holes and hilly in places. Take your camera there's some signature holes you'll want to snap.Excellent clubhouse and restaurant.Reviewer Rating

Óbidos-doesn’t get any easier
Royal Óbidos is a good test of golf and you have to be on your game to score here. Par 5s are tough but Par 3s compensate somewhat. Greens are superb on this well used curse. An enjoyable but testing experience ...... sunshine made it a special treat.(Round played: May 2019 - Score: 97 Handicap: 23)

Work in progress?
Obidos seems a golf resort in progress. The clubhouse is underwhelming and the course is good, worth playing but unmemorable. Our round took well over five hours to complete.Reviewer Rating

Royal Obidous superb in nice conditions
This course is really challenging but was the best I've ever played it in really benign conditions. The fairways were well maintained and the bunkers had loads of sand in them. The greens were really good and the pace of play was nice and quick for 14 holes but the slower pace from there home cost me (or at least that's my excuse). I love the par 5s and was really disappointed with myself on the long 12th hole par 4 Index 2, a hole I normally love, as it takes planning. Staying on fairway is key if you're not a big hitter or a risk taker. The par 3s were lovely to play and I got a bonus of a birdie on the 8th with a two foot putt that at other times might be a gimme. Really enjoyable.(Round played: Apr 2018 - Score: 100 Handicap: 22)

Great course
Played 27 holes on this excellent Seve designed course with his classic 6x3, 6x4, 6x5 layout. Excellent condition, even more so considering it was December, overall a 4* bordering on 5* course. Highly recommended.(Round played: Dec 2017 - Score: 97 Handicap: 18)

Really tough course
This course was tough regardless of the tee box selected. It was really long, taking 5 shots to reach par 5 greens. The course was in really good condition and those that enjoy a challenging championship course will enjoy this course.Reviewer Rating
