What the club says: The 9 hole Oceanico Academy course located between the Oceanico Faldo Course and the Oceanico O'Connor Jnr. course is ideally suited to beginners and those who wish to sharpen up their short game. It was opened in 208 and it has been built to the same high standards as the Oceanico Faldo Course and Oceanico O'Connor Jnr. course.
Three teeing options vary the line of play into each hole and maximize every hazard designed into the green complex. The 7th is the feature hole on the course, where two of the teeing options play over water.
The 9 hole Oceanico Academy course will become a firm favourite with all the family and a must to play alongside its big brothers.

Exciting and very playable resort course
The view of the courses at Amendoeira from the terrace bar is stunning and it promises excitement that is delivered in spades. The O'Connor course has water hazards everywhere (although not many of them have any water in them) but it is very playable. The fairways are very wide and it requires a pretty wayward shot to miss them. The water is frequently to the side of fairways and then up near the greens. It makes for a very exciting and exhilarating round. The green were very quick and true when we played. Fairways were in good shape but some of the tees were a little bit scruffy. It is patchy and scruffy around the edges of the holes, mainly due to a lack of water, but the bits you're supposed to play on are in very good condition. The food in the clubhouse was good and the most reasonably priced of the four courses we visited. The staff were very friendly and the bar stayed open long after darkness had fallen, something that cannot be said for all the courses we played. The only issue was the pace of play was slow, in part because of the number fo groups that were packed onto the course (8 minute tee times) and also because of the lack of understanding about how to play golf quickly from some of the groups in front.Reviewer Rating

Quality accommodation and 2 very different but excellent courses offering very different challenges; good practice facilities and bar/catering. Friendly staff.

A challenge
An interesting course but not an ideal holiday course for over 20 handicappers, too challenging. Somewhat expensive, bunkers very poor considering the course fees.Reviewer Rating

Great Challenging Course
Great Challenging Course, In pretty good condition.Need to able to drive the ball well to score around this course as some holes you need to drive a minimum of 100-150yds to reach the fairway.

Brutal off the whites

One of the better Oceanico's
Firstly work of advice get a buggy the transitions between holes are long! Course was fun in great condition and enjoyable to play particularly as our later tee time meant we saw no other golfers on the entire front 9.(Round played: Sep 2019 - Score: 110 Handicap: 20.7)

Fantastic course, very well looked after. Need to be long and accurate with plenty of hazards if you're not. Not for the faint hearted!

Glorious course

NIce course to play whilst on holiday
Always enjoy playing the O'Connor course, great facilities. Hardly anyone on the course this time of year. Some great holes with plenty of water around. Greens had just been top dressed which slowed them down a bit. Got to play this course when golfing in the Algarve(Round played: Aug 2019 - Score: 75 Handicap: 6.4)
