What the club says: The concept of Clandon Golf is to provide a high quality, easy access 9 or 18 holes golf experience as you the customer dictates. The course has been designed for all level of golfers. Clandon Golf is not your traditional golf club and therefore we have no membership base.
In 2008 the construction of the front nine holes of the golf course commenced on a fantastic chalk based site 5 minutes from the centre of Guildford.
2009 saw the construction of the back nine. To further improve the base, where there was no chalk primarily around the quarry, thousands of tons of chalk was excavated and those areas capped, thereby ensuring consistency of playing surface and drainage. Above and beyond this, massive amounts of earth moving took place to create great golf holes. Three large teeing areas per hole, huge greens with tantalising slopes and the brand new Sportcrete bunker system.

Muddy Course
Unusual for Clandon ,it was quite muddy in places, due to the amount of rain we have had recently. Apart from that the course was in pretty good condition, although there were a lot of pitch marks that hadn't been repaired. Why o why won't people repaired them even if they didn't make them.Reviewer Rating

Great value course
Great value again and in very good nick considering the weather. Greens also in good shape and can't complain about the fairways either.Reviewer Rating

Challenging course for high handicaps
Varied holes some relatively steep climb, others very straight forward but 13-15 are quite challenging with sloping fairways and deep quarry, always an achievement to get over quarry on 15Reviewer Rating

Great value course
Course again in very good nick and played even better with a drop of rain on it. Good pace of play and, although we were a two ball, we were quite happy to stay behind the 4balls in front who hardly held us up.No clubhouse but refreshments area more than adequate and very good value, as is the golf also.

Really decent good value course
Course is interesting and varied, quite hilly. Tee boxes are decent, fairways are a bit rough as are the greens but always playable except it in the worst winter conditions.Reviewer Rating

Most frustratingly this time was the rudeness of the starter. We were a 2 ball teeing off behind a 3 ball (3 relatively elderly men with a dog). As it's a short par 4, we waited until they had played their 2nd shots and started walking to the green before teeing off. As we walked off the tee the starter asked us to keep pace and accused us of being slow already, then threatened to come and check on us in his buggy during the round. This was after 1 shot and we played as soon as we felt it was safe! We could not believe it.
