What the club says: West Herts is one of the longest established private members’ clubs, now operating under a Joint User agreement with Watford Borough Council, in the county of Hertfordshire, UK. It is a beautiful 18 hole country course set out in woodland.

Hadn't played here for a while. Course was in good condition. Greens were decent and rolled well. Rough generally cut down which was a good thing. Clubhouse is nice and had a decent sandwich prior to heading out.

Excellent
All you can expect from a high end golf club. Superb tees, fairways, thickish rough off the fairways, rapid greens & lots of interesting Braid holes. Keen to get back ASAP. Post round Good choice of beers but as usual no food available. Shame.Reviewer Rating

Course in good condition. Greens were true but ran a bit slower than expected. Decent value at £36 bank hol twilight rate.

Great course, greens were freshly cut and good condition. The club house is in very good condition and well kept.

Course was in great condition following the recent dryer spell. Greens were a little firm but were true once on and rolled well. Bit tricky to find balls slightly off the fairway in places as it tended to sit down in the semi for some reason but otherwise excellent. Some recent changes to some of the bunkers made things interesting. Very well looked after by the club on our society day and food was excellent throughout the day.

This is a well establish traditional club known for it;s quick greens but a lot of clubs seems to be saying that these days.

Old style golf course renound for it's greens it is still pretty early on in the season so it was understandable that they didn't cut the greens too low as they are still recovering from the early season maintenance but they were rolling at a good speed and they were true.

Enjoyable round with a couple of mates, one of whom is a member. Course was in good nick and greens rolled well. Behind a slow 4 ball for a while which took the shine off a bit but they finished on the 14th so end of the round was quicker at least. Decent pint in the clubhouse post round but sadly no food as kitchen shuts at 6 on a Friday.

Played as a guest of a mate who's a member. Always a tough course. Rough is currently up in first and second cut which can make it tricky to find a ball even if you're just a little off line. Course itself is very good. Greens were comparativly quick which made it tricky to get the pace as most other places I've been to recently have been much slower. It's a good challenge and despite having played a few times I've yet to get anywhere near my handicap. Didn't use on this visit but clubhouse is nice and does good food etc.

Played here a couple of times now. Struggle to score well here for some reason. Not sure why and whilst it's tree lines it's not massively tight. It's interesting to go round though. Nice clubhouse and good food. Green fee can be a little steep.
