.Over the past mouth the weather has not helped things but i must say the course is looking good and things look like they are moving forward. The rough is much better no more losing balls and the greens are rolling very well
it is defiantly worth a round and its great value for money i only payed £18.50 for a weekend round.

Minor niggle was the state of the tee-off areas - although not terrible, they weren't great so often didn't have an ideal stance on the tee.
Course is a tricky one, it is very mature with plenty of nature about - anything too far off the fairway and you're on for a golf-ball hunt.
Enjoyable round!

Sadly this means that not enough work is being done to keep the course looking and playing as it should, although it has improved in 2009. Very mature trees make for a difficult round in Autumn, as the fairways get covered in leaves. The bunkers should be GUR as they are not tended enough (some are marked GUR). The greens were in good condition when I played there this year, but as there is no watering system, they can be variable depending on the weather.
I'd say it's worth playing as it's usually very cheap, and there are some interesting holes.
I believe Peter Alliss used to be Pro there some years ago, and certainly Laura Davies used to frequent the place. The Bedforshire Golf Club itself (as it used to be called) bought new land and built another course just a few miles away near Stagsden, but it's not as interesting a layout and a lot more expensive to play.

I STARTED PLAYING AGAIN ABOUT A YEAR AGO AFTER A 15 YEAR BREAK AND AFTER PLAYING OTHERS IN THE COUNTY IN THIS TIME AS WELL I CAN CERTAINLY SAY THE SERVICE AND FRIENDLY WELCOME IS FANTASTIC.
WHAT IT LACKS IN GREEN KEEPING (WHICH IS IMPROVING FAST) IT MORE THAN MAKES UP FOR IN THE CHALLENGE, WARM WELCOME, VALUE FOR MONEY AND VARIETY IN HOLES.
THE 1ST IS A REAL CHALLENGE ,A PROPER GOLF HOLE, AS IS THE 3RD,6TH,8TH,12TH AND 16TH.
THIS COURSE IS A REAL HIDDEN GEM-IF YOU WANT TO GO AND PAY N PLAY ARE JUST TAKING THE GAME UP OR ARE A SCRATCH GOLFER LOOK BEYOND LITTLE THINGS AND SEE THE BIGGER PICTURE.
I WILL BE PLAYING THERE FOR A LONG TIME TO COME.

The fairways are well maintained at the moment howver sometimes in summer they are allowed to grow a little too much particularly on the opening holes. The main benefit of this course is tee times are normally available because it is not a well known club as far as I can tell.
