What the club says: A quaint 9 hole course measuring 2190 yards over undulating parkland. Opened in August 1996 & designed by local course designer Jeff Shuttleworth, the course was constructed by South African Craig Cooke, who had previously reconstructed parts of the famous Loch Lomand course in Scotland and the Valderama in Spain.

Good for a quick 9, or 18
The greens were still a bit wet and slow when I played but other than that the course was in good condition and not too busy (early Thursday afternoon start). You can't grumble given the cost (£8 for 9 holes, £10 for 18 holes). I found the 7th to be particularly challenging. Fairly local to me and as somewhat of a novice I will go back every now and again to see how I am improving. The scores given are in the context of the cost of a round.Reviewer Rating

Getting there, but is too late?
Last year the course seemed to enter a drastic decline.I have played a few times this year. The teeing grounds still leave a lot to be desired, that is being kind, they dan awful. The greens and fairways appear to be getting some much needed tlc.
This said I do wonder if it is all too late, having spoken to a number of players they are reluctant to part with the small green fee to play what had become a course which at best could be termed a laughing stock.
I played twice last week, at a time, when, once upon a time you couldn't move for pensioners like me, I had the whole course too myself, consolation, I found 15 golf balls.
It is sad that a once lauded 9 hole golf course is reduced to being plyed by about a dozen members and gangs of young men who walk on without paying and proceed to treat the course with utter distain.

Gone downhill
The course used to be fairly decent. Greens are really poor and the fairways are like rough long 2-3 inch grass. Was very disappointed.Reviewer Rating

Without a doubt, the scruffiest, most unkempt course you'll ever play.
Awful 'Impossible to find a flat part' Tees playing to Uncut and yet again Awful Greens.
It's a shame, as the course layout isn't that bad...It could be so, so much better.
