What the club says: Short 18 hole course with lots of challenge and variety. Stupendous views, rare flora, water wildlife and woodland scenery. The approximate play time for the Gold course is a good three hours.

Gnarly summer conditions
First impressions are- this course is tight. Very tight. Fairways less than 20 yards wide in places, but scope to make them much wider than they are. The uncut parts of the rough are as you'd expect for the time of year, deep hay. Subsequently i lost two balls in the first four holes, one of which was barely over the back of the green. The greens have no watering system and due to the recent drought were very hard and brown.I suspect i will score lots better next time- there are no yardage markers out on the course which makes distance control extremely difficult- a course planner or your own GPS watch would massively help with scoring here. Hitting driver does not help, all holes would be reachable in two with a good 4-hybrid tee shot.

Sound round to accompany a camping weekend
Now called Akebar Park, this short course is nestled in the hills surrounding the caravan and camping site. Whilst short it is interesting enough with some nice par 3’s and the fairways are extremely narrow. Some great views as you head across the river between holes 6 - 13. The greens could really need some extra tlc, too woolly and slow which detracts from what otherwise is a nice course. If you’re after a bit of fun golf and don’t take your greens too seriously then this is worth a knock even if its just to tick off another new course(Round played: Jul 2019 - Score: 76 Handicap: )

Great little course with awesome views.
Super little course not too demanding but great fun and a test in places. Especially, the Par3 and the 10th along the railway line. Take time to look up and soak up the scenery. Enjoy the experience.Reviewer Rating

Tricky in places
My only issue is the lack of yardage markers, some small trees as markers but no colour to say what they are marking. hit a few wrong clubs as a result.(Round played: May 2018 - Score: 92 Handicap: 22.6)
