What the club says: Valle del Este opened in 2002 and was designed by José Canales, who integrated the course into the surrounding landscape by making use of natural vegetation. There is a good combination of very challenging holes, with other less strenuous holes. The raised tees are surrounded by volcanic rock making for a very surreal golfing experience. The wide fairways tempt the golfer into using the driver but with large sand bunkers as well as three lakes, the wrong shot will get you in trouble .

Simply a beautiful course to play
Simply a beautiful course to play as indeed the hotel and resort is fantastic to stay in. Off the beaten track but never the less a great venue, plenty of taxi's anyway. Lovely rooms, great staff, superb food and great value for money. A tight good testy course with plenty of opportunities to score well (my 44 points can testify). The greens could do with a little attention but still very fast. Loved every minute of the trip.Reviewer Rating

Great Setting
Have played for many years but not since Covid so it was nice to come back. The front 9 was as I remember it. Par 4 3rd is a challenge, Par 5 4th and the Par 4 5th all make you think. Course management is a must. The par 4 8th has been made slightly easier, in my opinion as they have cleared the bushes and grasses on the approach into the green. On the back 9 the Par 4 13th has been changed significantly. All of the Par 3s present a challenge, all different with probably the 6th being the easiest of the 4. Two great finishing holes with elevated tee's on both prior to the finish in front of the hotel.Reviewer Rating

Avid golfer
Played here many times over the years. But, April 2022 was the last. Truly awful.. Hole 6 dire. Earthworks everywhere,no blue stakes etc. Hole 8 totally destroyed, literally. It was a lovely hole but for the very high handicap golfers that invade this course this hole was beyond them. Four waiting groups at the tee were common.Hole 13 a disgrace.Shambolic dirt ground on the right just full of weeds. Greens unbelievably slow and don't talk about the bunkers. The course invites all standards and 5 hour plus rounds are common.Yes, we have played with 54 handicap golfers who literally had no idea. Assume they are trying to speed up play by destroying what were challenging holes. Never again. Had thought that they moving in the right direction but selling yourself to the devil to just speed up play and destroy a good course is unacceptable. Chopping down the tree on the 4th fairway was criminal. Driving range balls are the worst that I have ever encountered. Talk about not spending money. They even have replaced the practice area in front of the hotel with a croquet lawn so the jolly nice chaps of the area can do their thing.Reviewer Rating

What a Shame
Played here again recently after several years away. OMG. So many changes. None any good. Greens super slow. Really untidy green surrounds. Crazy “hard pan” areas full of weeds. Dunno what happened at #13 but it’s been redone and it’s rubbish. Driving range ok. Practice putting greens v. bad, the old big one is a for Croquet only! All round- What a shame.Reviewer Rating

Fantastic setting to play golf
They are making a lot of changes around the course with introduction of flat sanded areas on a lot of the fairways. Not so sure it adds any value as a golfer simply makes it more picturesque.Reviewer Rating

Awesome
Thinkers course, fantastic challenge. Every hole is different, every hole is a challenge. Great condition, a little busy and definitely wouldn't want to walk it unless you wanted to take 5.5 hours.(Round played: May 2019 - Score: 89 Handicap: 19.8)

Fantastic resort
best place I've played in Spain...so far. The course is fantastic, a real test with plenty of water in play and good sand in the bunkers. The hotel facilities are 4* and live up to them, having the golf club within the basement makes for ease of club storage and collection. The restaurants and bars are very friendly as you would expect and there are a few other eateries close at hand if you fancy a change, definitely enough to keep you interested for a week's break and we will be back there soonest.(Round played: Jul 2018 - Score: 103 Handicap: 26)
