What the club says: The natural features of the La Cala terrain have been used to challenging effect by the renowned golf course architect, Cabell B. Robinson. The three courses are carefully maintained to ensure they are playable all year round. The North Course (now renamed Campo America) is perhaps more difficult than the shorter South (Campo Asia) but both demand great accuracy from the tee and careful club selection.
Meanwhile, the third golf course, Campo Europa, uses the River Ojen in making the course distinctive. The layout allows for plenty of water hazards. All three offer different challenges to all levels of golfers and demand good course management in addition to a wide variety of shots.

A varied and challenging course given its relatively short length. Course condition a bit shabby in places but maybe because only in February.Reviewer Rating

Hotel restaurant and bars are great. Hotel rooms could do with a little updating, more plug sockets etc

Challenging Mountain Course
Beautiful course in the hills above La Cala de Mijas with deceptive hills and vallleys. Requires straight driving as anything slightly off fairway can roll to unusual positions leaving side hill lies or nestled in Bermuda grass.Reviewer Rating

Toughest course at La Cala; in good condition
Often cited as the easiest of the 3 courses at La Cala, it certainly doesn't play that way. Some very straightforward holes, like the 1st, but some of the most difficult on the property: 4th, 6th, 11th, 13th, 14th and 15th. You really need to play well here to score well. Condition was very good given the challenging weather through the summer. La Cala is a tough place to play golf but it offers probably the best value golf in the area.Reviewer Rating

Amazing views and lovely courses
We played the Asia course on day 1 and found the beginning tough losing 6 balls, but then the course opened up in the back 9 ... the Americas course on day 2 was more foregiving and only 2 balls lost!! Amazing backdrop on most holes, the fairways were a bit sandy, and the greens not as fast as expected. Lovely club house, staff and wonderful resort next door, well worth a visit.Reviewer Rating
