What the club says: La Sella Golf Course is surrounded by the Natural Park of Montgó, a Mediterranean forest we respect, that is why we have the quality certificate ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 for environmental management. Our irrigation systems use recycled sewage and organic products are employed in the maintenance of the golf course. We distinguish our three 9 holes courses by three different colours and local winds.
Llebeig.
The first 9 holes are oriented towards the South. In valencian language, this name is the warm wind from the Sahara, which causes tropical and dry air masses. These holes, running between huge masses of pine are characterized by its scenic beauty with spectacular views of the natural park of Montgó. Technically difficult this is a varied course where the player will have to use almost all clubs.
Gregal.
The second 9 holes lead eastwards and owes its name to ancient times where this wind was used by ships to go to Greece. Located in a more flat land, this course adds more presence of water to the game and with the last holes of the golf course designed to be decisive for the score.
Mestral.
Coming from the North, this cold wind, feared by farmers, allocates the new 9 holes. Three pairs 3, 4 and 5, situated in a higher area than most other holes of the course, these holes offer a spectacular view on the sea, the Segaria mountain and the natural park of Montgó. With wider fairways and large Greens, this course is designed to enjoy golf in full nature.

Mind the 2nd cut
Great course. Each 9, of which there are three presents a different challenge. Lleibeg has tight narrow fairways and initial t shot on 6 of the 9 are tight with trees either side. Gregal is a little easier as far as tightfairways are concerned however stroke index 1 is on this 9 and it's a 9 you need to manage club and shot selection well. Lay up, would be my watch word. Mestral is more forgiving with wider fairways, it's the most scenic of the 9 however the par 5s on this 9 are a challenge. Only disappointing thing is the depth of the 2nd cut just off the fairways and in some cases very close to the fairways. If your ball goes in it is very tough to get it out, sometimes it is 2 balls deep. For lady and high handicappers it is very tough.Reviewer Rating

Interesting 27 hole layout
Spent a week at the Marriott La Sella hotel, so we got to play all combinations of the three 9 hole courses. There is enough difference in difficulty so that I got 2 shots more on the most difficult pair of courses of Llebeig and Gregal, than on the easier pair of Gregal and Mestral. The pairing of Llebeig and Mestral was only 1 shot different.A number of our party were unimpressed by the courses, but I thought they were interesting enough, with some quite different holes and challenges. The four tighter holes from hole 3 to 6 on Llebeig were obviously the harder playing holes, and those followed by the 7th hole at stroke index 1 with water to carry or lay up for your second shot was the obvious reason for the higher difficulty.
Some of the fairways did show some bare patches, which, out of a party of 50 displeased many, but I didn't think this detracted too much from the overall enjoyment of the courses. We also had a couple of windy days, where this seriously made the courses more difficult.
Bunkers were very good, although the deeper sand was quite firm, so you need to be accurate as to how much sand you take with your shot. Tees were fine, and mostly the greens were good, and a reasonable speed, although a few were a bit patchy with what looked like some sort of disease. Greenkeeping staff were in evidence, but not intrusive.

3 9s great range of challenges
As there are 3 9 hole courses here you get an opportunity to play a whole range of challenges. Llebeig that was our 1st 9 is a challenge as the fairways are quite narrow so driving accuracy is key. A little bit of water comes into play which also means on the par 5s your second shot has to be accurate. Gregal was our second 9 which is longer, fairways are a bit wider however water and ditches with water across the fairways come into play. So second shots and deciding whether to lay up or go for it become important. Mestral the 3rd 9 is typical of UK Parkland course, wide fairways, the first hole is a par 3 so if you start there it's an interesting start. The par 3 6th is great for nearest the pin with the par 5 5th being great for longest drive. Beware the ditch on your second shot on the 5th. Overall 3 very different 9 holes which makes it great for a weekend stay and playing the different courses. The second morning we were there it rained quite heavily early on, some of the green had little grass on so the "muddy" areas could hinder your putts.Reviewer Rating

Overated
We played the red and green courses The design on the red was strange in places. The green course was no better than a municipal and very poor fairways and tee directions, cost €60 to play both nines which was ludicrous and totally not worth it. I shall not be going back, better courses everywhere in the area. One to avoid.Reviewer Rating

On this occasion our round was VERY slow ( 5 1/4 hours ???? !!! Due to many oap's and high handicappers on the course , along with being extremely busy
But for the money we paid ££££ a bit more control of the tee times would be required
Course was good , but the long waits on the tees ruined it for us
