What the club says: The first of two Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Courses - "Monte Rei North" - opened for play in June 2007. This par 72 Championship golf course measuring 6567m from the Tournament tees is a truly unique design; with water coming into play on eleven of the eighteen holes, the golf course features an enjoyable series of eight par-4s, five par-3s and five par-5s in a challenging and distinctive layout.

The course is getting back to it's best after the fire in recent years, it didn't feel as prestigious as it did in years gone by but none the less it is still a good course.

Outstanding and tough test. Every hole was different and isolated from other holes.

Great

Lovely course in the hills just outside of Brighton. The course is well designed and the green are well maintained and the best in the area. Its not value for money , I have played better courses in Portugal

in my opinion it's up there with Palmares and Dunas at Terras da Comporta as the best in Portugal and although it's minty the service level is second to none. You are also playing golf more or less in the Portuguese wilderness which gives it a special appeal

Played Monte rei on 12 June 23,
Played with my son as his birthday present, he plays of 2, me 26, he’s 41 I’m 64, it’s all numbers!
The whole experience is amazing, the club and service are top notch,
Great practice area, you can drive chip and putt forevermore, when you tee up on the first it’s a pinch me moment,
Course layout means that no other hole is in sight when you are on the tee box, every hole is the signature hole,
The course had suffered from the wild fires last year , fairways good, greens need water and bumpy BUT
Best course ever, loved it !!

What a pity

We were so looking forward to our round at Monte Rei as we have played it many times. The course was in very poor condition with bumpy greens and scrubby areas. Bunkers untidy and the fairways dry and sparse. We have played the Quint courses which were in great condition .

This golf course was an amazing experience from start to finish. The layout was fantastic, the greens were in great condition, and the facilities for practice and relaxation were excellent. The setting was beautiful and every hole was of a great quality. The course was challenging and well maintained, and the clubhouse had reasonably priced food.

A European bucket list course which is challenging but mighty enjoyable. You are likely to have more sand under your feet than a Saharan camel as the bunkers are massive so make sure that part of your game is up to scratch!

Stunning course and wonderful service

So sad that the course had been impacted by the wildfires around the area recently resulting in a massive loss of trees around the golf course. The club have done an amazing job though as all the playing surfaces remain exceptional and was a true delight to play a course that has been on the playlist for a while.
