What the club says: Luttrellstown Castle Golf & Country Club is situated within the 567 acre walled estate of Luttrellstown Castle, only 20 minutes’ drive to the centre of Dublin City and Dublin Airport. cleverly used to maintain the integrity of this ancient landscape.
The course measures over 7347 yards from the championship tees, making it a worthy test for golfers of the highest standard. Water is featured on 11 holes, accurate tee shots determine where and how much of the hazard must be crossed. The view from the 6th tee down across the Liffey Valley and Strawberry Beds is spectacular, while the par four 11th presents visitors with the first glimpse of the castle. A view of a romantic Doric Temple and quaint Boathouse also adds to the appeal of this hole. The stretch between the 3rd and 7th holes is the most demanding on the course as it is here most games are won or lost.
Full practice facilities are available, including chipping and putting greens. Expert golf tuition is also available from residential professionals.

Fantastic Course worth a visit
Played on 19/02/24. Soft in places, 12th hole notable the softest hole on the course even the higher points were soft. A lot of rain recently did not help. Greens sanded but did not take away from the enjoyment of putting. Course I will definitely be back to when course is firmer. Worth the trip, but play in firmer conditions.Reviewer Rating

Firstly, there is their tolerance for slow play. Expect to spend up to five hours trudging behind hacker four-balls at certain times of the day. You might expect a member of staff to move things along, but I haven't seen any effective approach to dealing with that problem during several rounds at Luttrellstown.
Secondly, while the food served is nice, the management of the dining area leaves a lot to be desired. You wait, and wait, in a dining area that resembles a creche at times. Small children screaming and knocking over drinks, walking on tables. Not good. I'm all for a family friendly environment, but not a free for all in dining areas. Surely that clubhouse is large enough to cater for both golfers and those who want a place for small children to play?
And third. They have a great practice area. But it can shut down randomly, as they run out of practice balls. Yes, I am not joking, they actually run out of practice balls! If you have traveled there to do some practice, you may be turning around and leaving to find an alternative golf club to hit a range ball.
On the upside, some of the staff are very friendly and helpful and add life to the place. A few others could do with some hospitality training. The members are, well, OK. Perhaps the problems I have outlined above make it difficult for them to have a smile on their face when they meet you.
