What the club says: Menaggio and Cadenabbia Golf Club was one of the first in Italy and was built to a very English design. This is due to the arrival of a man known as Mr. Wyatt. He was a wealthy Englishman who wanted to enjoy his inheritance by building a golf course and enjoy his favourite sport. In 1907, the club officially opened and started as a nine hole layout before being later developed into a full 18 hole course. In 1961 the Rancoroni family acquired the golf course off the previous English owners and in 1965 over-saw a complete redesign of the course with the English feel being changed to a more Italian one. One of the most talked about holes is an uphill par 4 that is one of the narrowest in golf.
