What the club says: A splendid parkland course located along the winding and very picturesque River Mersey, just 3 miles from the City centre with easy access from the motorway system and Manchester International Airport.
At par 71 and 6378 yards in length it offers a challenge to the most discerning player and at the same time is a pleasure for the higher handicapper. The lush tree lined fairways and manicured greens have been described as the best in the Greater Manchester area.

Friendly place, stay out of the trees!
Friendly members and staff in all areas. Well kept course, lots of work taking place in advance of the winter. Hit the fairways and you will have a shot to the well kept greens. Clubhouse is welcoming, food reasonably priced and is very tasty. Would recommend for visitors, societies and new members alike!Reviewer Rating

Great course
Withington golf club found in fair condition after the greens have recently been treated, the fairways had a few tractor marks due to the wet start to the year but on the whole in great condition a really good challengeReviewer Rating

Nice course but not challenging
I played on my own this morning 9.30. Never played before. Three ball of members in front of me refused to let me through. Another four ball behind decided as I was waiting for these three in front to try and drive through me on the fairway to speed me up. Luckily his little baby drive was about thirty yards behind me but the point is the players say a lot about a club and to experience such poor etiquette in front and behind me means I won’t be going back to Withington. I walked off after 9 as it was taking an eternity with no sign of them letting me go through. It’s a shame as I imagine the course is decent in summer. Lots of developed trees and the greens were half decent.Reviewer Rating

Stunning
Tricky & testing course not long but need to be accurate and not only put the ball on the fairway but the right side of it to access greens.Reviewer Rating

Great course
This course offers several challenges. Some tough approaches and narrow fairways, but equally wide open spaces for the higher handicappers. Well worth a visit(Round played: Jun 2019 - Score: 92 Handicap: 19)

'The Stretch'
Great Course in lovely condition. Very welcoming and lovely food. Some tough holes depending which tees you play from but we were offered the choice which is good. The final three holes which have been named collectively as 'The Stretch' can be a real test for any golfer and the club provides society's and visiting groups with a courtesy 4 ball 'Master of the Stretch' voucher to be presented to the individual with the best score on these holes. I didn't win the voucher, blobbed on 2 of the 3 but this is a fantastic idea from the club and just adds to an overall great visit. Highly recommended.
