What the club says: Winter Hill is a truly magnificent golf club owned and managed by the John Lewis Partnership.
The golf club was the dream child of John Spedan Lewis, the founder of the Partnership. Discovering Winter Hill for the first time is like uncovering a hidden treasure. Built on fast-draining terrain, it boasts exceptional views over Cookham, the River Thames and the famous Cliveden.
Played at its longest, the course is 6,364 yards in length with a par of 72. From the ladies' tee the course is 5,761 yards, par 73. There is also a practice area and a putting green available for those wishing to brush up on their skills and two fully qualified PGA golf professionals are on hand to book lessons and give expert advice.

Winter Wonderland Course
Always a pleasure playing this course, for a change not busy allowing a nice flow to the round. This course always amazes me how well kept it is for the type of course it is, getting a lot more foot traffic and some noticeable signs on the softish greens but amazing how presentable and enjoyable this course and clubhouse is.
Well worth the visit with some lovely holes and scenery to boot

Definitely worth a visit
Popular course with our society. In good condition as always, although some greens were quite scarred and marked with pitch marks.Reviewer Rating

Lovely course
I played Winter hill in the summer and it's a lovely course, I've heard it's great in other seasons also. The fried breakfast we had wasn't great but the service was ok. The bar area is ok and the Pro Shop isn't great. On the course though there?s no doubt, a great challenge and one of the better places we play.Reviewer Rating

Always a pleasure to play
A nice course to play, with the longer grass now making the rough a definite no-go area. If you stray into it then play a provisional! Greens in great condition, quite fast despite recent rainfall. Definitely worth a visit , and once played a return visit is very likelyReviewer Rating

Very nice course
Considering the awful weather recently the course was in fantastic condition. A few patches of laying water, some greens quite spongy, but still playing very well. And push/electric trolleys still being allowed.Always enjoy playing here - definitely worth a visit
