What the club says: A pleasant, picturesque 9 hole parkland golf course on the banks of the River Tyne.

Suitable for all handicaps, this gently undulating, almost flat, tree lined course always proves a very good test for golfers, young and old.

Just clear up a point what sport900 has said.....the course is still maintained by the county council. The club have actually bought their own equipment. The county council have appointed a employee as a dedicated Greenkeeper....with a lot of hard work by the Greenkeeper and the committee the club seems tomb moving forward.......well worth a visit

The club has under gone some major changes in the past 12 months which has meant it is now responsible for the upkeep of the greens and fairways. This had previously been done by the County Council. I have found that the course is now in great condition all year round and the Committee have done an excellent job during a dry summer and an exceptionally wet winter the course unlike others has remained playable throughout. As the previous reviewer stated the club is one of the most friendly around and good value for mony

Tynedale is a very flat 9 hole parkland course, with narrow fairways and well kept greens. The course is fairly straight but with the fairways being so narrow it is still testing. There is a railway line running along the left of holes 1 & 2 and the train drivers seem to take great joy from blasting their horns as you drive off !!!!!!!
I have not played at a friendlier venue from the bar man thru to other players. Not the best course in the area but for learners and competent golfers alike this is a good course and for only £12 per 18 holes you cannot complain, and you may well be impressed
