What the club says: Set within the magnificent wooded countryside of the High Weald of Sussex adjoining Tilgate Forest Park, this outstanding location offers unparalleled views. The park covers some 400 acres and was once part of the Tilgate Estate, which covered much of the surrounding area. Tilgate Forest is now classified as a country park and conservation area with golf being just one of the many activities on offer.

Still muddy in places
Certainly not as dry as other GC in the are, I am sure. Still plenty of work to be done in terms of drainage. However greens not too bad but 10th and 11th on tempsReviewer Rating

Based on the outskirts of Crawley, I loved this fully mature, tree lined hidden gem. The greens were as good as any I've ever played, most holes were interesting, fair and challenging. We played on a beautiful sunny day . Bunkers are my only complaint- they were either mostly poor or g.u.r.Reviewer Rating

I played Tilgate three times this week and it is in fantastic condition the greens are fast and true bunkers have sand in and are evenly filled.Ollie and his staff have done an amazing job under tough rainy spells.
Shop staff and chefs always friendly and accommodating.
Five day member £65 absolute bargain.
Well done to all ?

Challenging
Tilgate is a tree lined course that does not forgive a wayward drive. The fact thats it been open in the very wet weather says a lot for the ground staff. The greens could be better but due to the weather its been difficult to cut them. Staff are all friendly and theres a driving range as well. No driving net though.Reviewer Rating

A very wet Tilgate
Afteer the previous days rain all the fairways were sodden and at least 2 greens were very spongy. No run on the back but not that many plugged shots either. Tees were ok and Greens obviously responsive. Shame I can't chip up to the hiole!!Reviewer Rating

Sunny day on a picturesque course
Some golfers view Tilgate as a difficult and narrow course. Whilst this is arguably true, a round under the sun walking through a lovely forest is a joy, and I love this course!Reviewer Rating

Much improved after alterations
A couple of smaller greens and looks like drainage issues addressed. Quite a few dog legs and blind at that. But course looked in good condition. Bunkers looked like they had sand in them and certain was sand in the new one on the 7thReviewer Rating

Played here today for £18 on a weekend and it was great value. I haven't played here for two years but have to say the improvement was great, this was really clear to see especially on the greens. Hope they keep up the great work as I will be back.Reviewer Rating
