What the club says: Situated on the A307 Portsmouth Road, just off the A3 Thames Ditton and Esher Golf Club is easily accessible. The course has been in existence since 1892 so is well matured, and has the feel of an inland links course, boasting some of the best greens in Surrey. The course has 9 holes played from two separate tee’s and measures 5,190 yards, par 66. It is a fair and enjoyable test for any level of golfer. The course is situated on extremely well drained soil and barring freak weather conditions it is open 52 weeks a year. You will be assured of a warm and friendly welcome at Thames Ditton and Esher Golf Club, and we would hope to make your day one to remember.

Great course!
This course is a good family, friendly course. It offers a good challenge for new golfers as it is a bit shorter, however it is tight in areas.Reviewer Rating

Links like fairways on 4 and 5.
On the third you can just see the top of the flag; sunken green par 3; good hole. Rough in the surrounds around this area, they are probably limited on how much they can cut the rough. Four requires a carry of over 150 if you go up the left, more room than you think from the tee here. A bit of an intimidating tee shot with the rough surrounds; slightly blind shot. 5 a bit shorter than the previous hole hitting down the same fairway as four. Lumps and bumps down this fairway, feels Linksy. Little shelf on the right hand side of the fifth green, then green runs right to left. 7 a tricky par three with a huge oak on the left before the green. 8 plenty of rough up the left; quite tight. 9 a dogleg left, you can bail your tee shot out right down 2nd fairway, you will have to approach over a tree for your second though.Reviewer Rating

Challenging 9 holes
Nine holes that are good for beginners and those not keen on 18. It's not a great layout and the condition is poor but it is public access land so that might explain it.Reviewer Rating

fair course not outstanding but reasonable value
Course in fair condition, greens average and rough full of grassy mounds so very difficult lies if short or a little off line. Some holes challenging requiring elevated drives to clear rough before reaching fairway. Not a beginners place to play. Many pedestrian paths with dog walkers to be avoided. Shares car park with a great English pub the Marquis of Granby at the Scilly Isles roundabout.(Round played: Oct 2020 - Score: 61 Handicap: )

A Common course
This course is on common ground and walkers and dogs abound. A lot of the rough is unplayable so I used lots of balls. You need to keep to the fairways if possible a challenge.Reviewer Rating

A Collins
Super course. Made from common land, it will always have it's setbacks, i.e. walkers etc.Great course to refine your game as if you are off line you will lose your ball. Some carry's 150+.
Lots of tee positions however to cater. After the very hot summer 2 years ago, greens are very good and true. Tee areas look like they are being worked on. Although after 3 months rain in a week difficult to beautify and course in those conditions. Pretty much open all the time and terrific value for money. Great clubhouse atmosphere. You can get round 18 in 2.5 hours.

I thought I had it beat early on but it certainly found me out! Greens not amazing but all very playable, tees are a bit scruffy but only one was annoyingly so. Yes there are walkers and shared/crossed fairways but just need to have a look before you play (not a bad idea). Very friendly staff and members. Slightly annoyed I took a membership elsewhere because I want another few more go's.
