What the club says: From the first tee, the Thames Valley spreads out before you and with Bisham, Marlow and the river in the distance, you know there is something special about this course. The downhill par 4 first hole leads you to an undulating course with beautiful views throughout the round. The eighth is another stunning hole, this time a par 3 which takes you down to the lowest point of the course. From there you start to making your way gently back up to the Clubhouse .

Temple GC. A great course-Well worth a visit
As with all courses the fairways are very dry and golf balls roll for ages, which on a course like Temple can be difficult. With fairways not holding straight drives, the slopes of the fairways take balls away to the semi-rough and a lot of 2nd shots are then blocked out behind trees. OK, if you can draw or fade a ball, most golfers can't shape a golf ball flight, so can prove difficult the majority of golfers. Sure it will improve when the course is a little softer after some rain. A good variety of holes, makes for a good challenge. Enjoyed the round and my favourite holes, and they'll be different for other golfers I'm sure, would be the par-3 8th, long and downhill from an elevated tee, looks great. The par-5 12th, drive to a narrow fairway, with heavy rough to the left, sweeps downhill and then rises to a receptive green. The par 3 16th another long hole. The green sits in front of the 2 trees in the distance. A wide fairway allows for a mis-hit shot not to be punished. The par-4 17th , a slight right to left dogleg that sweeps downhill and then rises up to green. And the par4 18th, with OOB all day the left. Big hitters could drive the green, but a good drive for us mere mortals, allows a short pitch into a green that is slightly lower than the fairway so a nice pitch and run will equally do the job. Practice facilities are OK. Good size putting green, 2 practice nets, but didn't see a chipping area. Pro-shop has a good selection of eqpt and the clubhouse is welcoming, if a little dated in my opinion, could do with a fresh coat of paint. All-in-all, I'd recommend a visit to Temple. It's a good test.Reviewer Rating

Wonderful character
Extremely varied holes - you could never get bored no matter how many times you play. Clever layout- not a simple up and down challenge.Reviewer Rating

What a find.
Glorious weather, course in excellent condition, friendly and helpful members and staff. You can't get better than that wherever you play and whatever the green fee. The majority of the holes require a draw so didn't suit my left to right game, but we coped and enjoyed the experience. Will definitely visit again.Reviewer Rating

Love this course - the views and the variety
Played in our Golf Society so had a nice deal £35 for the round and £10 for food (bacon baps and coffee followed by lasagne). There are some sensationla views. First tee massive down hill makes you think OMG there is some hill walking ahead of me -but only one gentle climb up the 17th. show how well laid out this course is. My local course right now in the Midlands is boggy so am wearing spikes - this was dry as a bone so wore my summer shoes. Not a long course - 5773 off yellows par 69, but plenty of testing holes with 3 long par 3;s 200+ yards. But great fun down hill on 8 and the green is in a crater on 10!. Some good tight holes and strategically placed trees make it a good challenge. Lovely views from club house.
Only 1 hour 20-30 from the midlands is a good location just off jn 4 of M40!

Very pleasant course.. great views and amazing greens
Without doubt the best greens I've played this year and probably in living memory. Some fabulous holes - the first tee sets the bar very high with views over Berkshire with a steep downhiller. Some really nice holes but some beasts of a bunch of par 3's. At par 69 there are 5 par 3s. 2 are short 130 yards but the other 3 are >200 yards which are not easy.
In the summer I hear the rough gets punishing so lucky to play in May!
Thoroughly enjoyed especially hitting 3 birdies (2 on those long par 3s so don't be intimidated as I am not a long hitter!).
Lovely terrace outside the 19th!
Excellent sausage baps to start the day.
£30 with a member is a steal
For those thinking of joining for a very reasonable £1200 you can join and get 35 rounds of golf which in this area seems to be a huge bargain --membership has doubled since it was introduced apparently.

Good challenging course, very hilly!
I really enjoyed this course despite a poor start to the round. Not to be played by the unfit I think! Greens were good, the fairways were very dry and hard, not green at all, but it has been very hot and sunny for weeks. Would happily play again.(Round played: Jul 2018 - Score: 96 Handicap: 17.9)
