What the club says: An 18-hole (6250 yds) golf course, Strathaven Golf Club was first established in its current location in 1907. Willie Fernie, Troon the 1883 Open Champion, designed the original 9 holes. The Course was extended to 18 holes in 1965. Arguably one of the finest parkland courses in the West of Scotland, Strathaven has played host to a number of prestigious competitions over the years including the LGU Girls' International Matches during 2004.
Whatever the time of year, Strathaven offers a rewarding challenge to golfers of all standards. With its tree lined fairways and well protected greens, the Course demands a high degree of judgement and skill to achieve par. When par golf is not the order of the day, the tranquil surroundings and magnificent views over the nearby town and surrounding Kype Hills will still make the visit worthwhile. And at the end of the round, where better to relax than in the Club's welcoming Restaurant and Bar overlooking the 18th green.

Strathaven GC
A tree lined parkland course since 1908. Mostly flat with a couple of hilly fairways. Greens can be fast and challenging. Nets, putting and short game practice areas. Friendly clubhouse serving good food & drink. Well stocked Pro shop with buggies, push and electric trollies for hire.Reviewer Rating

From Tee,Fairway,Rough and Green you could see the work and attention to detail that the Greenkeeper and staff put in to keep up a high standard.

Enjoyable Course
Still a lot of winter work ongoing but there is clear evidence of the improvements that we will see here in the future months. Hopefully I can go back in the summer to see the fruits of their labour as it looks promising. I have based my ratings on how my perception of a fully open course would be as it would be unfair to do it differently.Reviewer Rating

Beautiful course, Beautiful surroundings
Great greens and a tricky wee course. Take the time to look around you, beautiful countryside and only half an hour from Glasgow city center. No holes are the same and a mixture of distance positions makes this a lovely walk and an enjoyable test.(Round played: Jun 2021 - Score: 98 Handicap: )

Wet conditions but the course was very playable. Tees are very poor but summer weather hasn't helped.
