Sadly the critical reviews are all true1
Greens (actually often brown) all but unplayable, bunkers - compacted sand and weeds, grass too long and poor drainage. A pity because the location is superb. Attractive clubhouse - but little to offer in terms of food and drink. The prime function - i.e golf - of a potentially superb facility is self-evidently neglectedReviewer Rating

Stoke Albany
The greens are really disappointing. I have never seen greens in such a state. Some of the bunkers are in a bad way and been left to allow the wildlife to take over(Round played: Jul 2019 - Score: 87 Handicap: )

Unplayable
Once a great local course ,not any more.Tees overgrown,fairways reasonable ,bunkers totally unplayable and greens that are willy, totally diseased and unputtable on...sadly it's a course heading for closureReviewer Rating

Shocking
I’ve always enjoyed playing here, and visit probably once every three years or so. It has always lacked investment, which is a shame because the location is perfect and the layout itself has real potential.But I was stunned at the condition I found the course in this week. The greens have been lost owing to insufficient irrigation - big bare patches of mud mixed in with moss. The majority of tees had at least an inch of grass on them, and the bunkers were awful. Almost all compacted and full of grass.
£20 for 18 holes is nothing short of daylight robbery. I won’t be returning.

Needs support
It is what it is, needs investment but won’t improve if people don’t support it. Generally in good condition but let down by the greens. Suffered by the weather last year, very dry and mossy now. Most bunker are GUR. Course is open and appealing to all stands as a cheaper round it is acceptable.Reviewer Rating

overall course in good condition,Greens there is a lot of moss on green, wont be playing there again

Boring Course

Good course
After all the rain we have had the course was not in dad shape. The only problem was if you hit if the faraway the grasse was much to long and some of the bunkers where just mud. Needs a bit more TLCReviewer Rating

Nice course
Price on website £20. Actual £15. Very friendly in pro shop. Gave us free coffee whilst we waited for first tee. Course in excellent condition. Greens superb. Unfortunately there is no bar and no food to be had. So enjoy the magnificent golf then go to the pub in the village(Round played: Jul 2017 - Score: 131 Handicap: 28)

Very pleasant morning, greens and course in good condition. Staff are freindly and the locals seemed very amicable.
