What the club says: The natural heathland setting amongst established trees, gorse and heather forms a unique golf experience. First laid out in 1995, the panoramic views over the town of St. Andrews and the Bay beyond are stunning. The thrill of the tactical design of risk-and-reward golf is subtly threaded through 18 holes to suit every level of player.
The Duke’s ever-expanding list of awards and accolades has resulted in a series of elite tournaments being hosted that include the Scottish Matchplay, the Scottish Strokeplay, The European Amateur Championships, and most recently the Scottish Men’s Amateur Open in 2019.
Now a part of the prestigious collection of Kohler championship golf courses which includes Whistling Straits. The Duke’s, St Andrews, offers world-class service alongside one of the most manicured golf experiences in St Andrews. Facilities include, Clubhouse bar and restaurant, a fully stocked pro shop, driving range, short game area, par-3 loop and a fleet of GPS golf buggies.

Simply Brilliant Great Staff Grat Course Great Value
The Dukes is an absolute gem of a course. Challenging but fun, brilliantly designed, no two holes the same and the views spectacular.Having said that I HIGHLY recommend you make it a days experience.
We pitched up about 9am and were warmly welcomed by the Pro-Shop team who couldn't have been more helpful . They checked our booking, explained what facilities were available and suggested we head to the lounge for a pre-game Coffee and Breakfast Roll.
Golf was on the TV and the staff behind the bar couldn't have done more for us. We were made so welcome. Even the club General Manager and Golf Manager popped thru for a blether and gave us a bit of a history lesson.
As the sun was shining we popped out onto the veranda where the views were breath-taking.
As we were relaxing the pro popped through and told us we were on the tee in 15 minutes but if we weren't ready he could jiggle times.. how's that for service?
Out on the course the fantastic experience continued. Taking the advice of Graham(head pro) and his team we played off the white tees (our handicaps were all low singles) but there are a choice of 5 different (and all very different) tees for every level of player.
The course was very well drained having had over £1.7million spent on course improvements and the greens as good as anywhere Ive played. Peter Thomson designed something very special.
Id advise you take a gps as yardage is key to scoring. There are no quirky holes but all have a potential sting in the tail.
For me my favourite holes were the 6th, 9th,13th, 17th and 18th all simply stunning in their own way. This is NOT a slog but it is a challenge you can enjoy
Completing our round we went in for lunch which was great value and the food excellent. Service is first class.
All of us took advantage of the locker room facilities... strong showers, beautifully warm with huge fluffy towels. After freshening up we played pool and had a pint (in the locker room!!)
I cant recommend the Dukes highly enough and I haven't even mentioned the well stocked shop, Par 3 course and driving range!!

Not overly impressed.
First visit to Duke's - an afternoon round after playing in the morning. ?125 each was massively over-priced. 5 or 6 greens were poor, buggies not possible as 'nobody will be around when you finish to put them away' ; yet it's a long/hilly walk (this wasn't explained when booked). Tried to get some food to take out - ?14 for a sandwich ...... Yes, I get it's different to the local links courses, but you are effectively playing dodge the multiple bunkers on every hole, no respite which actually gets a bit boring. Save your money & play LadyBank/Scotscraig if you fancy a change from links golf in St Andrews.Reviewer Rating
