What the club says: The course is a challenging nine-hole heathland layout, free draining and playable virtually all year round. It features greens that have received much praise, and are widely regarded as amongst the best in East Anglia.
Adding to the pleasure of playing at Southwold are the views of the town and the Suffolk Heritage Coast.

Interesting 2 tee course
Lots of thick heather and you don't go into it! 5 lost golf balls 3 from tee and one on 4th shot on 11th! Greens were true with lots of undulations. Tees in good condition as wellReviewer Rating

Sunny on the Suffolk Coast
It is hard not to enjoy golf whilst the sun is shining but Southwold really is something special. We played on an evening twilight rate which was great value, better still there were very few people on the course. Every hole offers a different challenge with plenty of gorse to collect poor shots. The fairways were running with the occasional "links" bounce but all to be expected from a coastal course. The greens are relatively small and well protected but offer an exceptional putting surface, most probably the best I have putted on.We had a quick bite to eat in the Clubhouse before golf and the staff and members made us feel very welcome.

This course is well worth playing. Greens are excellent. You must manage this course . Some exceptional holes especially across the road the sixth. Wow this is a long par 4, with lots of problems along the way.Reviewer Rating
