Used to be good
Course has recently been closed by some clueless new owners of the hotelIt used to be a famous testing 18 holes

Hadn't played here in ages. Course was in decent condition and greens were better than expected. Little wet in places and it doesn't always drain that well but pretty decent overall. Dencent pro shop with good coffee machine that was free due to being part of a society. No other current facilities as hotel is undergoing renovation at present.

Great round
Very enjoyable round, the ground is still relatively dry. The fairways were well cut and the rough was a decent lenght.(Round played: Oct 2021 - Score: 98 Handicap: 25.6)

Good challenge.
Nice looking course and nicely laid out. Undulating design gives the legs a good work out. Played after wet weather and played long.Only down side was poor tee boxes on some holes, some were not level and this has to play the ball above or below feet level. Not ideal.
Little clubhouse was ideal and great bacon roll and coffee before tee off.
Lady in pro shop was very helpful.

This course is fronted by an imposing Victorian Hotel. The course is well laid out. The greens were in very good condition pretty fast and interesting slopes to them. The fairways were good but it took a long shot to reach some of them and otherwise the playing surface was fringe rough length making the course fell a little longer for the less accomplished player. This also made it difficult although not impossible to find your ball even if it appeared you had hit it straight down the middle. Many of the greens are well protected by bunkers. At the time o writing the sand pretty well playable. No water interest.
There were some players ahead not abiding to timely ball searching which was disappointing.

Nice course
Played this morning and there were plenty of people out there maintaining the course. Nice wide fairways on most holes, lots of ups and downs. There are two Par 5's in the first 5 holes to get you straight into it.(Round played: Aug 2021 - Score F9: 57 Handicap: )

Good, but could be better.
Course has potential but the focus is the hotel, which seems to be closed, it seems as though the course is being maintained by as few staff as possible. Lots of areas could do with a closer cut, sometimes we were not sure where the fairways were and the rough started, although the greens were tightly mowed. Mature trees and great views so quiet and yet close to built up areas.(Round played: Aug 2021 - Score: 103 Handicap: 23.1)

Bunkers Need Sand !!
Course in reasonable condition, but poor value for the £35 (£15 pre-pandemic) when the bunkers are in such poor shape with hard compacted sand in many of them.Course consequently half empty on dry summers day, due to the high green fees

Couldn't understand why it was so empty
Lovely undulating parkland course within easy reach of Croydon and South London - we were amazed at how few players were out there. The wide fairways are very forgiving, but the excellent greens are well protected with an array of bunkers.(Round played: Jun 2021 - Score: 93 Handicap: 18.6)
