Farmer's Field
The course at £25 a pop is cheaper than the others in the area but to be honest someone should have paid me to play here. I thought it being quite dry recently that the course would be alright. It's not. It's like a farmer's field - fairways in dreadful condition, the rough is all boggy and you sink in it trying to play your shot. Any kind of divot taken results in you being covered in mud. I got off there looking like i'd been playing rugby. More GUR than you can shake a stick at. Greens awfully slow. Only course i've ever played where the wind is into you on every single tee box.Boggy, chewed up, worst course in north east. Wouldn't play again if you paid me.

Tough, tightish, definitely hilly. Some good holes!
Entry and start point of the course a bit uninspiring. But that changes as soon as you're approaching the 1st green. The welcome at the club was excellent. Very friendly and informative. When you do get out on the course there are some really testing holes. Course has some tough hills. Some blind tee shots too, and there's a couple of tight spots on the course where the holes run tight to other players. But very impressed with some nice holes. Good greens. Sand was ok. Some gorse and nasty rough around the course but if you find that you deserve to be in it... Generally doesn't come into play. Fairways were occasionally a bit unkempt but fine. Wasn't expecting much given some reviews but was pleasantly surprised. Not an easy round of golf by any stretch. I wouldn't look fwd to playing it twice a week unless I had an electric trolley for sure! Enjoyed our day though, ta.(Round played: Jul 2020 - Score: 95 Handicap: 13.6)
