What the club says: The exclusive and picturesque course wanders over wooded heath land and is generally recognised to be a challenge to the most experienced of golfers, with it's greens renowned for their borrows and speed.
The original architect was H.S.Colt who has provided a course of nature's own making where each hole is entirely separate, shielded from the others by either natural banks or lines of tress.

Challenging course but good to play
Played before and always find a bit tough going. It's good to play although I find the 9th and 18th both muddy and a bit of a slog. There are some interesting holes, it's a very diverse course and not flat and samey like some we play. Friendly staff and lovely clubhouse.Reviewer Rating

True test of golf here, course in good condition, staff are very friendly and helpful, good food in clubhouse after game.

Lovely parkland course with well manicured fairways and undulating greens which was not as quick as they usually are but still ran pretty well.

Great location
Good course in excellent condition. This is a challenging course.The first nine easier than second. Holes provide a great challenge .(Round played: Aug 2021 - Score: 84 Handicap: 6.7)

Very nice golf course. Best greens I have seen in the midlands. Would definitely visit again. Good course.

worth a visit
6 weeks of drought summer 2018 but they have made an amazing effort to keep the greens holding, a hybrid from 210yrds stops within 5yrds #Perfect fairways like most brown but plenty of grass and not many bare spots. for me, you need to play it a few times to get the lines of the tee.2 practice areas along with chipping and putting green, friendly welcome from the pro and good all-round day. £25 for the open weekend pairs :-)

Great Course.
Really enjoyed this course. Some great holes. Quite a few are tight but if you hit the ball straight off the tee then you will love it. I found the Par 3s a bit long but reachable. Excellent Pro Shop and Service was first class. We ate after the round and had a decent choice. I opted for the Gammon and it was excellent, large plate and lots of food on it. Deffo recommend this guys.(Round played: Jun 2018 - Score: 90 Handicap: 13.7)

Best greens
Played sept 17. This is a MUST play course. Great test of golf . Fairways and greens are the best I have played in years, apparently they have a new green keeper. To score well you must keep it on the fairways but first cut and short punishment rough is fair. I reckon I could play this course over and over again and never get bored. Hosted the all England County finals last year so all in all a must visitReviewer Rating
