What the club says: Rushden Golf Course is attractive and challenging, with all the maturity that can be expected from a course that has been played, developed, and carefully kept for over 90 years.
It is a parkland course in a rural setting to the east of Rushden and Higham Ferrers in Northamptonshire. You can find the club on the B645 between Higham Ferrers and Chelveston.
The course is surrounded by open fields and farmland. Heavily treed and with many undulations, the 6200 yard par 71 course challenges low handicap golfers whilst remaining suitable to golfers of all abilities.

Nice parkland course
A very nice courier. The old part of the course 1 to 11 & 16 to 28 are best.Always in good condition with great greens.

Interesting course
Originally a 10 hole course built in the early 1900's, it was extended to 18 holes 10 years ago. The new holes are very open, and whilst there is some shape to them, the lack of (fully grown) trees means the holes are fairly same-ish. Having said that, I was very impressed with the first 9 holes, and the finishing 3 holes, and those alone would make me want to re-visit.We were playing as a Society Group, and I was the only one who had played the course before. All the rest of the group would be happy to return.
We had breakfast as part of our package, and it was excellent, and a ‘proper’ full English as one of our number said – i.e.2 of everything (eggs, sausages, bacon, hash browns, with beans and mushrooms, and tea or coffee).
The people we met were all very friendly, members and the club staff. If I have a complaint it is that the car park is on the small side, and I ended up outside the entrance, where there was room for quite a few cars.
Turning to the course conditions, the greens were in great shape. Fairways were generous enough, and the rough was cut short enough so that it was easy to find the odd wayward shot, so long as it wasn't so wayward as to reach the very long grass, which was particularly in evidence on the back 9. I managed to avoid the bunkers, but they seemed to have plenty of sand in them and were tidy.
Overall, it is a course I will play again without doubt, and as it's less than 20 miles from me, I hope that my next visit will be sooner rather than later.

Course of two halves
The 'old' front 9 are superb, well laid out & challenging. The greens are superb, already in late April they are lightening fast. The 'new' second nine is OK for 5 holes, but then the last 3 holes are superb. Look out though, the greens are noticeably slower.
Overall a very nice course & well worth the green fees. All the members & staff are very friendly & welcoming.n

Lovely course
Really enjoyed the golf course. Superb layout where you have to think a bit about what you’re doing. Greens in great condition and will only improve over the summer, making some the undulating greens very interesting.Reviewer Rating

Plenty better places to play
Plain and simple would 100% rather pay to play somewhere else the condition at rushden is not up to other courses in the area the greens and tee boxes were awful and generally quite untidy all over I have also found after a few rounds the pace of play has been slow and general etiquette hasn’t been great all from members aswellReviewer Rating

Nice parkland course
Rushden is a nice parkland course.I have to agree with other reviews that it's a very nice front 9, but then the new back 9 is a bit bland. To be honest it's only 11 to 15 that's lacks character.
Stand out holes are 6, 9, 16, 17 & 18.
It's in great condition & the staff & locals are very friendly.
A decent round of golf & I'd definitely play it again.

massively improved
Played the course a few years ago 3 or 4 times and it’s was fine. Played it at least 8 times this year (2020) and wow what a improvement, simply very neat and tidy, bunkers and greens are excellent, the fairways are also great. Newly revamped clubhouse and locker room as well, the practice facilities are also being improved. Superb course.Reviewer Rating

Interesting course
Originally a 10 hole course built in the early 1900's, it was extended to 18 holes within the last 10 to 15 years. The new holes are very open, and whilst there is some shape to them, the lack of (fully grown) trees means the holes are fairly same-ish. Having said that, I was very impressed with the first 9 holes, and the finishing 2 holes, and those alone would make me want to re-visit. We were playing just after coronavirus lockdown had been eased, so the bar and most of the clubhouse facilities were not yet open, so this also means I can't comment on food or drink. The people we met were all very friendly, both members and the club staff.Turning to the course conditions, the greens were in great shape, and whilst the back 9 seems to be a little slower than the front 9, this was not a problem. Fairways were generous enough, and the rough was cut short enough so that it was easy to find the odd wayward shot, so long as it wasn't so wayward as to reach the very long grass, which was particularly in evidence on the back 9. Obviously the rakes had been removed from the bunkers as standard during the pandemic, but the bunkers were in play and with a fair amount of sand in them, and people seemed to be making an effort to level them after playing a shot.
Overall, it is a course I will play again without doubt, and as it's less than 20 miles form me, I hope that my revisit will be sooner rather than later.

Nice course new part ime
The old part of this course is nice, the new part, which has made it a 18 hole course, needs time to mature as it is very exposed(Round played: Aug 2018 - Score: 95 Handicap: 15.4)

Rushden
First time i have played the course and there are some nice holes, although a bit open on the new part of the course, which will be nice in a few years when trees have grown. The original part is ok, but would be better in the spring/summer when trees are in leaf(Round played: Feb 2018 - Score: 93 Handicap: 18)
