Rother well
Given the weather the course is in very good condition, especially the greens which are as good as they have been for a very long time. The problem as always are the bunkers. It seems strange that they have provided new rakes, yet in nearly all the bunkers there is no sand to rake, only mud.Reviewer Rating

Layout good, needs care and attention
This is a regular course for me and my golfing mates, always decent value and I personally like the layout with holes 3, 6, 7, 11, 17, 18 my favourites and hole 3 being hardest on the course. Although it is always easy to get on this course and its never too much money to afford, it does need more care and attention. The tee boxes are really not good and they need a strategy to change the position every day to save them throughout a season. Greens are often covered in debris and worm casts which means putting can be a challenge unless you want to spend 10 minutes clearing the green. I would like to think that with investment this could be such a great course, but in reality its unlikely to happen in these times, so we will have to continue enjoying the layout and forgiving the tatty parts. We will always come and play this course as its so accessible, but its rare that we come away saying it was in amazing nick.Reviewer Rating

Course in excellent condition
The course was in excellent condition with green perfect and fairways and rough the right combination. Challenging course. Layout can be a little confusing between green and tee on a few holes. I would definitely recommend to any level of golferReviewer Rating

Value for money
Played for the first time in about 20years. 13:00 tee off only £19, course was quiet and in good condition. Just need some sand in those bunkers.Reviewer Rating

Not bad considering
I have played RV over 50 times, maybe more and I have seen it in much worse condition than it was on this round. Yes it was very wet and boggy in places, but the fairways were lined the bunkers were fine and the greens were ok although it does frustrate me when they are not cleared of worm hills and debris at the start of each day, seems like a basic start to open a course each day to me. Food great as always and the staff very pleasant and friendly. Locally we all know RV is a good summer course, with some really good holes and is a standard choice for a last minute round on an easy to get on, good value track. Its not the Belfry but it will give any of the local courses a run for value and playerbility. Watch out for hole 3, 6, 7, 15, 17 and 18 which are my personal favourites.Reviewer Rating

Very muddy, but playable
You always know RV is going to be muddy in winter as they allow buggies all year, but knowing that they reduce the price and ?13 on Mondays and ?17 in the week is fair for the condition of the course. Staff are always really nice and helpful, the Scottish chap in the shop is always really chatty and helps out where he can. The ladies in the bar always deliver food and drinks really quickly. So overall, its a decent round at a time when many courses are on temps, fairway mats, closed holes or worse. Well done to RV for staying open through thick and thin.Reviewer Rating

Drainage
The layout of the course is good and, in places, a decent challenge. The drainage is poor though. Mud all over.
I like that all greens are open all year round, unlike other courses, though.
