What the club says: Pannal Golf Club lies to the south of Harrogate amidst glorious countryside. It is one of the premier clubs in the North of England, founded on 28th June 1906. The course is in great condition all year round, also ideal for the novice golfer.
A tree-lined heathland championship golf course measuring 6614 yards with a SSS and par of 72. Superb views enhance the golf course, with Almscliffe Crag to the West, the Crimple Valley and viaduct to the North, and the rolling plains of York to the East.
The golf course has had the compliment of being asked to host many prestigious championships most recently the Open Championship Regional Qualifier, and the Yorkshire County Championship.

Good course, but nothing special.
Played Pannal for the second time - nothing particularly bad to say, but it doesn't blow you away either. First few holes are quiet flat & open, then climbing up to the higher level on the course there is a similar pattern of another run of similar holes. Course condition was good, as was the food in the the clubhouse afterwards, but for the green fees, there are better local golf experiences such as Oakdale, Shipley & Wetherby.Reviewer Rating

Nice Course worth a visit
Course comes with a good reputation. Pro didn't seem very friendly and locals seemed rather offish, although bar staff were very friendly when we'd finished. Course plays very long and maybe due to our standard of golf (16 HC), but many holes seemed to be bash it one way then bash it back another so got a little tedious at times. There are some good holes, the 17/18th being the best in our opinion. Certainly a good club with strong membership so well worth a visit, don't let my comments put you off as facilities are excellent.(Round played: Jul 2019 - Score: 89 Handicap: 15.5)

Winter tees so not the best of grounds. But overall the greens were ok and the fairways were very good.

Having just played Panal I have to say I left rather disappointed. Yes there are a couple lovely looking holes. But the first five or so holes are average at best. The course does get stronger I have to say.Yorkshire has some fantastic courses and this regrettably is not one of them. And I definitely don't need to play it again for that kind of money.

The course is in very good condition, despite playing on the hottest day of the year so far got around OK. The hardest holes are the first 6. Driving accuracy needs to be good to score well. The par 5's I layed up instead of going for it & managed a couple of birdies. Enjoyed the day

The course at the moment is extremely wet and muddy. I understand this dries well in the summer. Club house and staff are excellent.

Cracking proper golf course that is a great round from start to finish with the views/tees on 16/17/18 all being pretty special. A number of long 4s make it a pretty stern challenge but if you're keeping it straight and have a bit of distance you can definitely make a score on here. Greens are excellent and the little club house has good food and is a nice place to have a drink in. Pro shop staff were really helpful and friendly as were all of the members that I came across. Highly recommended.

what a brilliant well maintained venue teed off at 210 on the 11/10/15 in superb condition no pitch marks to avoid on the green like other places I have been to 2 putts per green and you are doing well the fairways were like carpets totally enjoyed the day
