What the club says: The Medal Course has all the key ingredients to make up one of the utmost challenges in the world of golf – rugged and undulating (yet an easy walk), some deep bunkers, springy yet quick draining turf, bountiful gorse, sand dunes aplenty and fantastic greens. A number of the holes run alongside the rugged Angus coastline offering some stunning scenery.
The Broomfield is not as 'power' course requiring drives of hundreds of yards. The key to conquering this deceptive course is a delicate touch and the ability to accurately control the ball from the tee. Especially when the East wind blows (which it has been known to do!), the Broomfield can prove to be a significant challenge

Broomfield course
Very disappointing experience at Broomfield today - 13th September. The fairways were some of the worst we have ever played and the tee areas are also very poor. As a visitor it is poor value at £22.50 per player. I spoke with the professional who explained that due to a lack of a sprinkler system this is why the fairways are so poor and I suggested visitors should be made aware of the poor quality of fairways / tees plus a number of the greens are less than idealReviewer Rating

Great course
First time playing this wonderful links course. Was very impressed with the magnificent setting giving fabulous sea, town and country views while challenging your golfing ability over difficult bunkers, sea grass and some intimidating greens. Was not as busy as a course as good as this should be. Fabulous Course
My first time visiting the 1562 course in this fabulous area of Scotland and I was not disappointed. Had the benefit of benign weather, albeit with the occasional gusts off the North Sea, and great company to enjoy what are 18 charming and in places challenging holes. The occasional lengthy par fours are tough but fair, although the highlight (aside from the views) for me were the greens. Perfect and putters dream. I'll definitely be back.Reviewer Rating
