Market Rasen
Super course, makes you play some unusual shots out of trouble. Very well maintained and in excellent condition. Some very good dog leg holes that help players that fade the ball.Reviewer Rating

Beginner to golf, only been playing 5 week. I really enjoyed the course but can imagine for a more advanced golfer they might not enjoy as much.

The grounds staff have been working well to improve this course, and to my mind, there is a vast improvement in the condition of the greens this year compared with last year. At five pounds for 9 holes and seven pounds for 18 holes midweek there is not much to complain about (the bunkers could do with some attention). The course whilst never going to be a championship course is a good practice course and is good for newcomers to the game. I am not a big hitter and there are two par threes (1 and 3) and a par four (4) that I cannot reach in regulation. There are no longer any facilities for food and ddrink, but Market Rasen is very close and plenty of facilities there. The toilets are kept clean.

This course has quickly deteriorated over five years. The course itself is in terrible condition. The greens are like a lottery. They are far too long to even earn the name "green". There is absolutely no point in lining up a putt because the ball will go anywhere. Any green where the ball bounces 8 times in one putt is not worth playing on. It's a putt! there should be no bounces at all. There are also many bare patches in the greens and fairways. The tee boxes are just rediculous. I found myself thinking, "I am on the tee. My ball should not be sitting in rough at this point!" The grass on the tee boxes is just far too long.
The toilet facilities are okay and there is a small shop to by refreshments. The current price for 18 holes (going round the course twice) is £12. That might sound cheap but when you have had a round, you will be disappointed with how the course is kept. It is very poorly maintained.
