What the club says: The course is a par 70 test of golf measuring 5,540 yards off the men's white competition tees (SSS 67). The ladies' course, also par 70, measures 4,872 yards (SSS 68).
What the course lacks in length it makes up for in the need for accuracy, both off the tee and in your approach shots. The threat of out-of-bounds comes into play on seven of the nine holes and many greens are raised with ground falling away sharply on one, two or even three sides. Missing one of these greens with your approach calls for a skilful and imaginative short game.

Pay for what you get
£20 , a sign in / honesty book , club house I presume is the aports and social down the road, toilets only noticable facilities,, no trolleys for hire , no-one except the green keeper and 2 other players sighted.... no wonder this place is under threat of redevelopment. Having said that an ideal and easy course to hack around and practice. No-one that plays here appears to replace divots or pitch marks....Reviewer Rating

The course is a nine-hole layout, with two different sets of tees if playing off the whites.
As a general rule, the course is very open off the tee and with relatively little in the way of trees and dense rough, which helps scoring and pace of play. Contours around the greens are the main defence rather than any other hazards, with good use of undulating land seen at the first, fifth and ninth.
The opener is a straightforward start while the second is a par five; the tighter to the left the player is willing to get, the easier becomes the approach to a green guarded by a bunker and a large tree on the right.
The steeply ascending third is short but by no means a pushover, and has a testing slope to it.
Climbing to the fourth tee, the views over the Lancaster area become apparent, and walking down the fairway and onto the green, one is able to see the old Lancaster Moor Hospital, Ashton Memorial, the cathedral and the castle.
A long par three precedes a short par four, both of which are enjoyable enough to play.
I was not a fan of the seventh, a par five with both a blind tee shot and approach, while ditch (not apparent from the fairway) guards the green.
The ninth is a good hole with a sharp slope across the fairway, which also has the potential to impact a mishit approach shot. There is potential to fly the ball onto the green or perhaps alternatively, feed it in from the right using the slopes.
Playing on a Monday afternoon the course was nearly empty, and the design of the course, and greens and rough facilitate a good pace of play for all abilities.
Overall the course condition was decent; the greens ran a little slow but were true. I was surprised by how wet areas of the rough were for September, but the recent rain appears to have benefitted the fairways which were indeed of a pleasing parkland nature to hit from.
Overall Lansil offers decent value golf for those in the Lancaster area

Good value and in good condition
Played today... Friday morning. Course was quiet and had a very enjoyable round. The 9 holes are relatively straight forward and friendly for scoring. Was really impressed by the condition. Fairways were great and rough not too harsh which is helpful for scored and speed of play. Greens in good nick too... Plenty of contours, be wary of tricky downhillers! All in all... Good fun and a decent 9 holer for a friendly game.Reviewer Rating

Lansil? LANDFILL!
We teed off and shortly after found ourselves peed off. What a disgusting course. Not looked after and would be better served as a venue for the destruction derby. Clubhouse is two shipping containers on top of one another.Reviewer Rating

Then to my surprise I got offered to play for free.
My paper work hadn't been posted or deposit paid....
Got my clubs out and by the time I'd walked down to the first hole, if been offered to join a two ball and and another member offered to play a round with me.
Great game of golf, corse has a mixture of holes
Corse is looked after and agree with others the facility's are 'shed' like but fit for purpose.
