What the club says: Experience the magic of Irish Links Golf at its finest at Kirkistown Castle. Although a par 69, this course is a challenge for even the best of players, indeed it is dotted with many deep revetted bunkers and possesses some of the most difficult par 4’s in Irish golf. With majestic elevated greens and tees the views of country and coast are simply stunning; the course plays firm and fast which requires a traditional style of strategic play. Kirkistown Castle is the boyhood course of Rory McIlroy's Coach, Mr Michael Bannon who remains an Honorary Member and still comes home to play when time permits! The closest links course to Belfast, only 45 minutes drive time.

Good Course, tough test of golf
What a great links golf course. Really good condition, and the Greens are superb, stay out of that rough though...Reviewer Rating

Super Course
This course was recommended to me by the PGA pro at Ballycastle when I mentioned that I couldn't get a tee time at Ardglass for this particular day. It proved to be a great recommendation. The pro at Kirkistown Castle was very helpful and welcoming pointing out particular features of the course which made for a nice start. Fairways are in great condition a reasonable width which is a good thing as the rough is particularly punishing at the moment (mid July). Greens were immaculate with plenty of subtle changes and a fast pace. Bunkers are proper bunkers as befitting a true links course. There are significant elevation changes on many holes but I can't think of a blind shot being required on any. The restaurant is well worth a visit after your round. Would I play here again? Yes, on Tuesday - it was that good.Reviewer Rating

Great Winter Venue
As a links course it's well known as one of the best courses to play when the weather conditions would make others courses almost unplayable. At any time of the year it presents a strong challenge.Reviewer Rating

Good course for 'year round' golf.
A seaside course with many challenging holes and greens which are slick and tricky to putt on at any time. Being on a sandy base, the course can be played all year with only a couple of holes on the back nine where you will see water only at the wettest times. Good course to practice your links skills.Reviewer Rating
