What the club says: Laid out by Ben Sayers and Alex MacKenzie Ross in 1898, Kilspindie uses classical natural links land on the beautiful coast of East Lothian. It is a relatively short course by modern standards but doused in history and a godd test of golf for players of all standards, being the annual host to the oldest foursome competition in the world.

Everything we wanted
Kilspindie is a diamond in a gem-studded line of courses on the East Lothian coast. Me and my sons and son in law have an annual trip to the Scottish Open, preceded by two rounds for ourselves. We played Gullane 3 in the rain on Tuesday, but Kilspindie the next day was fabulous and not just because it stayed dry. A friendly welcome in the pro shop and the bar, followed by a superbly conditioned course with stunning views of the Firth of Forth. Greens, fairways, bunkers and even rough are all in mint condition. We will definitely be back next year. Highly recommended.Reviewer Rating

Lovley short course.
Quite tight but forgiving as well. Wispy gradd once you are off the fairway means recoveries are usually hit left. Enjoyed the course but not quite as much as Gullane 2.Reviewer Rating

Love this place
Second visit - used as our warm up round before hitting some of the local 'big name' courses. If you visit North Berwick I highly recommend you do the same - a gentle start at a true old school links course. Nothing fancy, golf as it was years ago. Food and drink beforehand in the clubhouse was also very good.Reviewer Rating

Must play!
Kilspindie is simply a beautiful course, with stunning views over the Firth of Fourth and beyond. A proper links course, it has history on its side as well, it's the 35th oldest golf course in the world. Only one blind tee shot on the front nine, which is the tougher nine, the second gives you some real opportunities, but not without risk. The staff and members are fabulously friendly, the whole place is a proper golf venue. You simply have got to play here.(Round played: Jun 2021 - Score: 79 Handicap: 11.6)

Bucket list course
Proper links golf, right on the sea, throw in some blind tee shots, great bunkering and some challenging par 3s and you have Kilspindie. Not the longest, but when the wind blows it makes up for it. Would highly recommend although at ?80 for a tee time late Saturday afternoon it did feel a bit overpriced.Reviewer Rating

Fantastic course worth visiting
What a great course, the wind can play a big part in your game, some bind shots, which are not too bad, some tricky par 3’s. Well worth a visit(Round played: Jun 2019 - Score: 78 Handicap: 10.8)

excellent condition
Very enjoyable. Greens exemplary. Very strong wind compensated for slightly short course - notably on first 5 or 6 holes into wind and rain!(Round played: Aug 2018 - Score: 88 Handicap: 14.6)

Scottish Open?
Played just down the road fro. Gullane and the Scottish Open on Sunday. Kilspindie is an annual trip for us. Course in superb condition. Light winds made it very playable. Pro shop and clubhouse staff very friendly and helpful. A lovely round of golf.(Round played: Jul 2018 - Score: 78 Handicap: 15.6)
