There were few other golfers playing and there were some interesting challenges. The greens and fairways were in very good condition.

Great coutse.

I like this course but it is quite hilly so if you are not good at walking up and down hills, hire a buugy. I walked it carrying my clubs and needed a liedown at the end!!

Good course but not at it's best

First time playing Keswick, had booked on-line before hand which was easy enough. No pro shop and clubhouse very quiet when we turned up to play, nice chap in the car park directed us in right direction for first tee. Course had been closed a few days beforehand due to heavy rainfall so expected it to be wet in places which it was. Course very quiet which was nice. Quite a hilly course but not over taxing. Some nice looking holes and great scenery all around. Greens a little woolly but passable given time of year and saturated conditions. Would certainly like to play it again in drier conditions.

Beautiful course

Played this course after lockdown and wasn't expecting much. However I was pleasantly surprised at the condition of the course, particularly when the Pro informed me they had been relying on volunteers. They are a credit to their club. A very enjoyable round.

We played on a friday mid morning. Beautiful weather. Had breakfast before we played which was reasonably priced and tasty. The course is hugely scenic with some challenging holes, the par threes are long. The course is quite a challenging walk with some uphill climbs. The greens were good? the fairways were pretty decent. The rough was very thick and was easy to lose a ball. This is a beautiful course in a lovely setting. We finished with a well earned pint on the terrace outside. Great days golf and wild definitely recommend.

Played early May 2017, dramatic high hill surrounded the course - unfortunately this day we found fairways to be "daisy covered" and not close mown. Therefore difficult to find ball - even after hitting perfect tee shots & anything slightly L or R more so. The 16th fairway was in process of being cut, but noticed immediately, daisies hadnt been cut & removed, merely rolled over & sprang back up again ! Had played Cockermouth GC previous day - much better with proper mown fairways. A disappointing day therefore at Keswick

The setting of the course is stunning with a picturesque backdrop of the Cumbrian fells. Every tee has a hole guide explaining the dangers and local rules to be followed. (Very handy at times). Played Sunday 7th May and it was still preferred lies. The main issue was the greens appeared to have been top dressed and were almost impossible to read. It has the potential to be a cracking course and is a real test for any golfer.

My wife and I played the Keswick course, starting mid afternoon. The lady on reception was extremely helpful and polite. The course was quiet and in very good condition. The holes are all different and it would be a challenging course for all standards of play. We will certainly play this course again in the future.

Golfshake Team ReviewKeswick's unusual layout is often what confuses golfers around this course and really adds to the challenge, with a large variety of holes. It is the course's beautiful setting that makes this a real delight as it is set among the mountainous Cumbrian skyline.
