What the club says: Just a 10-minute drive from the M25, the 2718 yard beautifully maintained course is popular as both a nine, or as an 18 hole round. Situated between South Godstone and Smallfield the course has a history that our older members will be proud to extol.

A little (maybe underated) gem
I liked my visits so much, I joined, for a great price. Staff and members are friendly, I call it "a working man's golf club" and a deceptive challenge of a golf course. It's not long, but you have to play it. It has interesting hazards on most holes. The stroke index 1 can be birdied, but it can cost you a blob easily too. The back 9 tees do change the holes a little and the black(back) tees change some holes totally (hole 4 and 10 for sure). Course is kept well, holds up well in winter. Range is very useful. Best of all, terrific value for money. As a visitor you'll have a pleasant day out with interesting, fun and challenging golf. If you join, your in a players club. I'm really enjoying it at £700 per year, can't beat it.Reviewer Rating

Very good Golf Club.
I've postponed this round 5 times because having looked round previously I wasn't blown away. I played it for the first time today and was really impressed. The food beforehand in the conservatory was lovely, everyone was great in the cafe including the bloke singing. The tees were a bit muddy and the pace was slow at times but the course is great and the greens are in great condition. The first three holes are 4, 5 and 5 pars but they are nice ones. Both laps of 9 are around 2500 yards with different tee placements. I thought I would get a PB due to the yardage and I did. Good practice facilities and range also. Overall I will return, really enjoyed it.(Round played Front 9 : Oct 2020 - Score: 47 Handicap: )

a fair challenge
If you are a beginner or a keen player Horne has some great holes to make some good choices on how to attack the course , the fair ways are forgiving so someone who is getting back into golf, or just starting out, this course has everything to help you improve your game without making you feel deflated . For the lower handicap you will have some tough choices on how too make birdie .Reviewer Rating

Good course for beginners
Short course with wide fairways, good for high handicappers like me. Not without its challenges - ditches and ponds give plenty to think about. Greens and fairways in decent condition. Bunkers all full with water though, which made them unusable. The alternate tees for 18 holes don't add much - the ones for the par threes on 4th and 8th were in positions behind trees where you can barely see the green.(Round played: Jun 2019 - Score: 94 Handicap: 22.8)
