What the club says: Established in 1922, the English Golf Union has recognised our downland course as a great test of golf by asking us to host the Carris Trophy in 1999 and the English Boys Open in 2008 - both attracting strong international fields.
Described by 'Golf Monthly' as a "hidden gem," the 6,305 yards par-70, 18-hole course with 72 bunkers at High Post has, over the years, received many complimentary remarks. Reputed to be one of the finest venues in the country, perhaps the highest praise for the course came from Peter Alliss who placed the par-4 ninth in the list of his dream 18 holes.

Not long but will test your game

Somewhat different from when I last visited in June when the rough was long and penal. Course was soft so played longer but greens were very true if a little slow for my liking. Very friendly club.

Definitely worth a visit

High Bar at High Post

From the moment I called the pro shop to book a round prior to comp I felt looked after, Mark was very friendly and efficient on the Sunday and during the comp. The welcome was warm, all staff smiling and friendly, members that were volunteering were really friendly and the starter and referees and spotters all did a great job with professionalism and a smile. The course was a good test, rough long but fair, tees good but not the most level, fairways in good order, bunkers great and tricky greens which I hear can be tuned up to scary! Bacon roll was a bacon roll and the lunch was plentiful and served with a smile. Clubhouse inc gents were clean and tidy. It was my first time at High Post and I will be back and with friends as well as comping. Well done all

High Post Golf experience

What a nice golfing experience. During July I played 3 rounds at this beautiful course. The course is in magnificent condition and for sure 1 of the best manicured courses I've played. The outlay was challenging in the wind but very enjoyable. I can always recommend the course to every golfer looking for value for money...for sure. Well done to the management and everyone involved in making a game of golf at High Post unforgettable. Go out and see for yourselves..you won't be dissapointed.

Played High Post on the warmest day of the year on Friday 19/7/24. A total of 11 of us all agreed that the course was in an immaculate condition and extremely well presented. The course posed a fair challenge with its penal rough and very quick greens. Undoubtedly the best course we have played in the last year and we have played about 12 courses in that time. Will definitely return in the future.

Very enjoyable 4-Ball match played at High Post Golf Club PM Fri 21st June. Excellent course condition's, fast greens with a challenging wind. Special thanks to Sarah who looked after us in the Clubhouse following our round and for facilitating our refund.

Had a thoroughly great experience playing at High Post. Booking in Tee Times using a 4 ball voucher was very easy and the staff were very quick coming back and arranging this. Breakfast before was excellent and the course was immaculate and a pleasure to play. Highly Recommended.

Very challenging, very undulating course in a great condition
Rough is rough, and far off the fairway and with the wind, a great challenge. Long holes.

Staff were welcoming. The course was in great condition and it was easy to find your way around. Clubhouse was clean, tidy and comfortable and the food perfectly adequate. I only had a sandwich so it is hard to eulogise more !

Played here yesterday in a gale in a pro-am and I'd describe it as an inland links with a more undulating back 9. The course was superbly presented with lovely fairway turf, great greens and fabulouus views. Bunkers had unusual sand but realised this is because softer sand would blow away. Friendly clubhouse and staff. Definitely recommend although a slight negative is the compact nature of the course.

brought back many happy and challenging memories for me, having played here many times 30 years previous in The High Post Foursomes, usually played in a cold October playing longer than normal, however this time the weather was sunny which complimented the course so well the tees, fairways and greens were in excelent shape and well worth a low score, not from me.. thou a welcome birdie on the tricky 17th par 3 made my day complete playing in DGA event, great day all round with nice food and very helpful staff
